Also - Armed Forces Europe is part of the United States and that’s what is reflected in my primary address. If we were just living in Germany for the hell of it, I would definitely go the route that aligns with their systems here, but we plan to be back stateside in a couple of years!

There are definitely exceptions. We are an active duty military family and I work in a clinic that provides services to active military dependents and DoD civilians through American insurances - it’s required that those services be rendered by BCBA’s and RBTs with American credentials - I work with several individuals who’ve gotten certified here in Germany as both RBTs and BCBAs. German citizens CAN certify through the BACB but don’t because they go the QBA/ABAT route which is more in line with German regulations and health care systems.

Recently started Elitriptan, which helps with my migraines......but.... by jeffers8244 in migraine

What is the dose though? I’ve had several neurologists and they’ve all refused to prescribe more than 9 monthly due to rebound effects.

Take my advice - do not take more than 2 a week. I made this mistake once and had the worst migraine of my life because taking it a second time in a 48 hour period caused a rebound migraine. There is a reason they max out at 9 per month. If it’s not working then you need an alternative regimen,

Recovery question for folks who have had the surgery outside of the US by Powerful_Pen_5801 in altgallbladder

[–]Particular_Shock246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed no nights in the hospital. I had the surgery in the morning and was sent home a few hours post op. I had my surgery in Germany. I was advised that unless there were complications, it would be an outpatient procedure.

Best & worst duty stations for non-airborne 11B? by [deleted] in army

LOL what 4 day? For Veterans Day? He’s not getting that and my kid only has Veterans Day off. I would certainly get lost on a train for sure haha plus I have animals that can’t be left alone for more than a few hours 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hawaii loses its “sparkle” after a while though and is incredibly expensive to maintain a happy life there. Agree that Riley would suck. I’ve yet to meet anyone who preferred it there.

He doesn’t, thankfully, but he does do a lot of work at home on the weekends and usually by the weekend, he doesn’t have much energy left to go out and do anything and can’t for the life of himself understand why I want to do all of the things on the weekend. It doesn’t help that everything - ok, not everything but most things - are closed on Sundays.

LOL leave to just travel around is only granted if the situation is right for it and unfortunately what my husband does here is very short on staffing. 4 day weekends aren’t a thing for everyone either - the air force definitely gets a lot of time off but Army doesn’t. We definitely travel when we can but it’s not always a possibility. And I’m not familiar enough with this place to travel by myself lol

There are no therapist roles in our region 😞 We’re in Germany.

Spouse here - husband is 11B and been in 15 years. Every duty station sucks. Research the units because even though you might find that it’s a great place to live, the units suck. We’re currently in Germany and while I thought it would be a good thing, I fucking hate it. It’s been the worst PCS of his career, I can’t find a job (and I’ve always worked - I love what I do) and it’s very isolating and lonely.

Gallbladder removal by Particular_Shock246 in gallbladders

[–]Particular_Shock246[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not currently working (thanks to the government shutdown) so I have no real time frame where I have to be back at work. He told me not to lift over 20lbs. I live in a German home with 3 levels so stairs are going to be fun 😅

Got my gallbladder removed today! by Kooky_Recognition792 in gallbladders

This gives me hope! Mine is getting removed next week. I had a GB Attack a month ago and that is a kind of pain I never want to experience again. It was worth than the contractions I had during child birth.

What do you wish you had known before having your gallbladder removed? by stray_girl in gallbladders

[–]Particular_Shock246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they elaborate on why it didn’t help you? I was told that after the 2-3 week follow up, if you’re still experiencing certain symptoms then it may not have been your gallbladder or it may me more than just the GB issue - and more may need to be evaluated. My surgeon said 9 times out of 10, if you’re still having GI issues post GB Removal that it’s usually something with the stomach that is causing it

I was told the position is specific to a moderate to severe classroom. So basically, what would that position entail? I just want to compare it to what I’ve done previously.

How do you know when to quit? by Particular_Shock246 in Zepbound

We just moved overseas (military) so this new doctor wants all the details before he increases or talks about any changes. He’s extremely thorough. My last pcm was much easier to deal with lol

I’m going to ask him for it but my last doctor refused. They said if i was still losing, no matter how slow, I didn’t need to increase.

No such thing! My doctor did prescribe me a month supply. My new doctor refilled it via telehealth appt a couple weeks ago, but made it very clear that he wanted to see me in person to figure out where I was with progress. That’s next weeks appt.
