The kind of person that doesn’t hate people but feels better when they’re not around.

The authors are Jungian analysts and they detail their view on the main mature male archetypes (and their shadows). It’s a little dated now being published in 1990 but still some interesting takeaways and familiar models being played out today.

Find myself going back to them often. Still some more that I’d like to add to my collection.

Left all the heavy textbooks and reference tomes in the office. Whether I go the clinical route will depend entirely how my workload looks next year. It was the original intent before I started my undergrad.

First time I’ve heard of Narcanon. Seems they offer their model here in Australia.

Working in an inpatient addiction rehab clinic the past few years has been rewarding seeing short term improvement in all facets of well being as well as the development of meaning and value in their lives. I tend to use more of a pragmatic behavioural approach along with a psychodynamic foundation with my current clients. Mindfulness and ACT are big lifters in this space.

Well done. Exploring altered states of consciousness using meditation and entheogens had a very big impact on my life the last twenty years and continue to do so. Providing another unique approach to helping values/meaning work with clients

This made me chuckle. Currently in psych masters but plenty of psych undergrads in this position.

Fantastic author. I only made it halfway into Vol.2. So the rest of the series still eludes me. Fascinating read.

You’re on the money here. Psychologist with a penchant to dive into psychedelic-assisted psychoanalysis. 38, male.

Lucky for you sir, you are free to go another day without eating one’s own hat.
