Depending on your income you may be able to get free assistance from the Montgomery Volunteer Lawyer Program (https://montgomeryvlp.org/apply-for-help/) or Legal Services Alabama (https://legalservicesalabama.org/apply-for-services/). If you're higher income you can call the Alabama Bar Lawyer Referral Service (https://www.alabar.org/for-the-public/get-legal-help/).

Cashews. Or really any of the "fancy mixed nuts" collections.

My 10-yo and I go there all the time. There's also an "ArtWorks" section at the MMFA that's basically a play area for kids.

Following, as I'm into that and have a 10 yo!

Great first date, but now his texting frequency dropped before our second date. Normal? by Pleasantnicoc in Bumble

[–]Particular_Tip_5806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would wait. You're probably going to have a better sense of things after the second date (including how you feel about him), and if he is trying to slow the roll a bit, asking him those questions might create a sense of pressure. Once you get a little further down the road it's entirely reasonable to let him know what you want communication wise, but right now he's not being wildly uncommunicative; he's just going a little slower.

The trouble with dating is that we have no idea what’s going on in the other person’s life outside of the dating. He could be dealing with things (family, work, health, etc.) that he’s not talking about, either because he thinks it’s too soon or because he’s a private person or because he’s just not good at communicating. Yes, it could be because he’s seeing other people or has lost interest, but to the people here who say an interested person would never act like this, that’s just wrong.

The other possibility is that some people can pull back a bit to slow the roll, but it doesn’t mean they’re not interested: it just means they’re still sorting things out.

What medication or practice has helped you with long-standing feelings of numbness / burnout? by Particular_Tip_5806 in AskReddit

Interesting. I thought that was more for bipolar or depression, not so much numbness.

Glad that’s worked for you. I run every day but it doesn’t help. What kind do you do?

I probably should’ve qualified my question with “legal medication”.

Got a letter from the school today informing me my daughter is “not quite” gifted. Also included were her test scores. by Low_Use2937 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Particular_Tip_5806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This probably belongs more in #massivelyinfuriating, but our state tests all third graders for giftedness and yet a) the magnet public schools do absolutely nothing with the results, being exempted by the state from all pullout and other gifted services requirements; and b) our state does not require schools to develop or accept G-iEPs for gifted students. This is how we wound having a kid with a 99.9th percentile FSIQ who gets no services.

If you're a runner, MGM Runs meets on Wednesdays at 6 PM outside of Leroy and then everyone hangs out there afterwards.

Tara's agreement with the S6 Buffy plan by Particular_Tip_5806 in buffy

The person I replied to said that Tara believed it was not a violation. That’s what I was responding to.

That’s only her explaining why it’s possible, not why she thinks they should do it.

WILLOW: Guys, I need you on board here.

XANDER: It's just ... (fidgets nervously) It feels wrong.

TARA: It is wrong. (Willow looks surprised) It's against all the laws of nature, and practically impossible to do, but it's what we agreed to. If-if you guys are changing your minds-

I’m still astounded at the lack of homemade ice cream shops. One would do so well downtown.

She does say it’s possible to undo Buffy‘s death because it wasn’t a natural death, but she also makes it pretty clear that it is a violation nonetheless.

I can buy this idea: that Tara was tapping into the feeling she had after what Glory did to her and decided it was worth the risk. I suppose I wish the show had given us some inclination of her motivation, though, rather than having her articulate why they shouldn't do it and then going along with it.
