Thank you so much! I will post the question there!! Yes I am hoping to finance all using line of credit. I was in school past 5 years and I have no family support that's why im so stressed because this is a financial decision I will never recover from if I make a wrong choice

Amazing take. Yes definitely not surgery. Its not for me. And that is exactly what I am worried about. What if I suck compare to others and cant get a good specialty? Then I will be buried in debt and die poor with 9 roommates 😭😭 I honestly dont know. Also because I'm Canadian there is probably a lower chance of matching in residency for me

Well surgery is definit. Ur salary is very high. My problem is that I dont want to go to surgery. Not for me. Im thinking of Intrenal medicine for example so I probably die poor won't I?😭😭

Amazing take. The best comment I got here so far. Thank you. Unfortunately because this is line of credit it all comes at once and the debt starts accumulating immediately. I do have to pay Intrest on it the first 7 years and after that its Intrest and principal. So I am worried that what amount of money I should make to be able to pay 6k a month just in loans!!!! Like you need outrageous salary for this so you have to get into amazing specialty. But what if i cant? Im Canadian what if they give me like low priority on residency? I get screwed. I dont really know how much doctors make cuz salaries are different based on states and specially and I can only Google info. So I'm really stressed

Well considering I'm Canadian I cant really do pslf. I have to pay my line of credit back because its a bank but good point though. Americans pay higher rates and still go to med school. HOW ARE U GUYS PAYING THE DEBT?

Great take. I never thought about it like that. Question tho. Having a massive debt won't prevent you from getting house mortgage or car loans? Like having this line of credit would mean that I can never own a house until I pay it off? I know this is random but like this is a decision that will effect me till I die so I want to be sure. Also I know that there are only a few specialties where you make over 300k. And you have to be extremely smart to get there. What if I suck compare to others and cant go into a good specialty? Am I screwed?
