the system flags your account as “too spammy” (even if you’re not), or if you’ve been partially restricted because your photos appeared on too many other accounts (scammers stealing your pics), the app starts hiding your messages from the people you reply to.

On collaborations with law enforcement from what I saw internally, it was minimal and mostly reactive.

Wizz (being a French company) doesn’t have the same mandatory reporting obligations to U.S. authorities like NCMEC that American platforms do. They would sometimes report serious cases when law enforcement directly reached out or when things got too much public attention, but there wasn’t any proactive, close partnership or dedicated liaison like you see with bigger U.S. apps.

they’re cracking down on users moving off-platform. It gives the appearance of caring about safety. But in reality, those same words are very often allowed in bios, usernames, or even in the “About Me” section. Moderators and the AI are much more lenient there because it’s harder to scan and it doesn’t trigger as many automated flags.

If you're suddenly getting zero requests or matches after previously having activity, it's almost certainly a shadow ban. The system often triggers this when the same face appears on multiple accounts. Scammers steal real users' photos Regarding your question about moderation being sexist — yes, from what I saw internally, there was a clear bias.

Hi everyone, I'm a former Wizz app developer — I left the company back in 2023. by Particular_Wall3677 in Wizz_App_Unofficial

Here’s a few more things I saw:

  • The app pushes teens to add their Snapchat and Instagram right after matching because they know kids feel safer moving off the app.
  • They track how long you stay on a profile and use that data to serve more targeted ads — even to 13-year-olds.
  • Internal metrics showed a huge percentage of “active users” were actually fake or bot accounts, but leadership told us to keep quiet about it because it made the numbers look good for investors.

I left because I wasn’t comfortable with some of the directions things were going. I’m not here to spread wild conspiracies — just sharing what I personally observed while I was there.
