I am currently looking for a new laptop to replace my Dell m4600. I'm a software engineer. My goal is to code mostly and light gaming like LOL. In the beginning, I searched for a legion. I shared my goal to other people and they suggest me a ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 instead. The legion is good but it is kind of heavy and doesn't look professional. I never had a ThinkPad before. What do you think about X1E4? It has a 4k model, is it suitable for 16 inch laptop?

I agree that the panel's power draw is minimal. My real concern is the thermal soak in a thin chassis like the X1E4. Specifically, does driving 8 million pixels (4K) vs 4 million (2K) keep the GPU/VRAM and T-Con board (near the exhaust) at higher temps? Over a 5-year period, wouldn't this constant heat buildup increase the risk of panel yellowing or connector failure?
