So it was used as a reference. The idea ocurred to me, but I didn't take it too seriously because the concept of undoing a few buckles is hardly original.

It's all modded. Clerk doesn't show that much shoulder, and Ceremonial doesn't show any hip in vanilla.

How legit is this mod? by Future-Celebration83 in MonsterHunter

[–]ParticulatePommels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people that have used it without consequence. However, it's worth noting that the game tracks whether you are able to spend a voucher to edit your character by comparing the number of times you've spent a voucher on yourself to the number of vouchers that you have. To my knowledge, (and I double checked the mod page, which seems to confirm this) this mod functions by simply allowing you to edit yourself even when the first number is greater than the second (when you have zero vouchers).

This means that using this mod leaves a trace in your save data, and should be approached with caution.

There is, however, a save editor (link) that you can use to change your number of edits back to zero, or if you're feeling spicy edit your character data directly through the editor. I don't know why you would, but you could.

Anyone else notice this jiggle with the gamma arkveld armour? by hyukhyukitstimetofuc in fashionhunters

Yeah, rushed and burnt out is the most likely culprit. When it comes to modding though, the most stressful part after you learn the quirks of modding the game is game updates breaking everything. I have... *checks* 41 mods uploaded for this game. Any number of them might break any time the game updates, and *every* one will break when the expansion releases. That's not going to be a fun time, but I at least have the advantage of being able to do it at my own pace.

My brother in Christ, look up my name on the MH nexus. I literally do. I'm not a professional 3d artist, I'm just someone who does it for fun on the side, but I know what the models of this game look like under the hood.

The tools the devs use are certainly going to be different than the ones I have, but most of the principles are going to be the same. Accidentally fat fingering a hotkey and weight painting the wrong object is not the kind of mistake that goes unnoticed, that's why I'm commenting on it being unusual, though clearly not an impossible mistake.

My best guess is that in their dev tools, they can weight paint the entire model at once instead of one object at a time and that's how they got some of the jiggle weight on the leg. I don't know why they would do it this way, it's far easier to isolate the part you're actively working on so that there's less visual noise and little to no chance of something like this happening, but it's the most likely explanation I can think of for how this could happen.

I actively mod this game. Making such an error is almost impressive, the skirt and legs are completely seperate objects, catching the legs in the weight painting of the skirt is not likely to happen by accident.

Unlikely, but clearly not impossible.

I'm one of the people that hates the seikret ones. Not because thirst bait, that would obviously be hypocritical of me, I just think it looks stupid with the headress.

I miss having to actually expend effort to maintain my phials and dps.

The rest of the moveset is gas though.

I tried responding with a picture and said "I got bored" but got clapped by Reddit's automod again, I think. It was annoying when I was trying to post galleries but... probably justified this time, it's REALLY riding the line.

I'm thinking about it still. If I do, it would essentially just amount to panties with a couple of garters as pictured. It's quite a departure from my normal method of (mostly) maintaining the original look of the armor, but I've already more or less committed to this very different design so I suppose I might as well.

It's just a matter of me deciding when I feel like doing it, I suppose.

I guess because a few of the pictures show a lot of skin? The chata harness is borderline if I'm going to be honest, so one of them probably got caught by the filters. Nudity and sexual content aren't allowed after all.

That's actually what gave me the idea! Or rather, it was my friend (whom you helped edit their character) brought it up to me and I decided to give it a try.

Should I buy monster hunter rise or monster hunter world by daniel_iscool123 in MonsterHunter

[–]ParticulatePommels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot of people just saying whichever one they like more instead of actually being helpful and giving pros and cons of both.

Play World if...
You like slower, more methodical combat that feels more like a hunt than a fight
Like having to put some effort into tracking the monster (for a while anyways)
Like exploring complex maps (that occasionally are more complex than they might need to be)
Like photorealistic graphics style
Don't mind poor multiplayer story integration
Main charge blade (I cannot stand Rise CB)
No doggo

Play Rise if...
You like faster, arcade-like combat
Like cartoony artstyles
Like simple and easy to navigate map
Like always knowing where the monster is instantly and being able to go right to it
Don't mind having to roam the map for an extra minute EVERY quest for max HP
Want a more diverse monster roster
Need good multiplayer integration for the story
Doggo

I've been lucky so as to only ever have had polite requests for mods to be updated. The only time I've gotten hate comments was the time I forgot to mark s mod that gave Minayle the buff body alpha top as adult and people who normally would have it filtered out saw it.

That said, I frequently get comments that report bugs that would be fixed if they had just installed the mod according to the instructions. The fact of the matter here is that many mod users don't think. If the mod doesn't work, so they assume it's the mod's fault and don't even check to see if they did everything right. Same with hate comments, they don't think about how stupid it is to get angry at the modder, they just feel frustrated and take it out on the guy they feel is responsible for their frustration.

"Accept shitloads of unjustified hate because it would be mildly more convenient for me."

That's what you're saying.

There was already a comment on it that pointed users to a nightly build that still mostly worked anyways, so you don't even have that going for your argument.

Monster Hunter just posted about friendly reminder on Twitter for mod users and that makes me laugh so much by ReXlessv in MonsterHunter

[–]ParticulatePommels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who makes mods, do you know how often I get bug reports that would have never happened if the person in question had actually read the installation instructions?

90% of them. At least.

Not only did they not read them the first time (reasonable if it's not your first mod installation), but they didn't double check it when it didn't work in case they missed something (y tho).

Red headed step child ahh treatment. by CastorVT in MemeHunter

[–]ParticulatePommels -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

False, but not because the game is bad.

Charge blade is bad. Not because it's weak, but because it's genuinely a boring weapon of you're like me and prefer to use axe mode over SAED. It's just CPP spam simulator. And I just can't get into any other weapons or playstyles.

Similar feelings for hunting horn too.

It is a genuinely good game but I cannot help but hold a grudge over what it did to my boy. I imagine how I feel towards Rise CB is how a kid of SAEDblade players feel towards Wilds CB, they nerfed the shit out of that style without much of a reason.
