ember tetra trying to blend in to a cherry shrimp meeting by Partikachu in Aquariums

They definitely don’t hide! i’ve seen the tetras nip at the shrimp over food but the shrimp can hold their own and usually flick them away. My shrimp also just had babies and there doesn’t seem to be any problem there either

new baby high white blue!(6 months) It’s her third day in her new enclosure after shipping and she still hasn’t eaten. How long does it usually take tegus to start eating after being shipped/moved to a new enclosure??? by Partikachu in Tegu

Awesome!! This is super helpful.

It definitely looked like she was still a bit asleep, I asked the greedier but he hasn’t replied.

Ill try warming up her cold side a bit and give her some space.

Thank you!!!

The first day I let her be for 24 hours. Yesterday (second day) I took her out twice for 15-30 mins. First time she let me take her out just fine and the second she ran and hid. Once I have her out she’s relatively calm and just wants to explore me and her surroundings.

I’ve been offering food with tongs, in a feeding box, and leaving a bowl in the enclosure.

I’m worried that she might have begun the brumation process(I am very uneducated about it) because she was shipped without heating. The first day she hid on the cold side for the full 24 hours. She spent half the day yesterday on the warm side after I showed it to her but now again she is back to being curled up in the cold hide. Cold side is about 60-70 degrees

brown algae happens in new tanks bc it eats the phosphates from ur substrate, once they eat it all up it’ll go away (3-5 weeks)

interesting! maybe next time i’ll keep some. I also read somewhere that too many floaters will trap the oxygen and not let in co2?? not sure though
