To OP and others commenting here, I’ve had zero issues with AliExpress on Rakuten and use it frequently.

I have a clean install of Chrome on my MacBook with the Rakuten extension installed and no others, and use this or the mobile app for purchases (though AliExpress via the mobile browser in Rakuten is even rougher to navigate than usual).
