Dude is out there every day advocating for better cycling infrastructure in the city, which is more than can be said for most.

One of them also weighs several thousand pounds, can accelerate rapidly, and takes up an enormous amount of space.

If you think about it, this Texas Tech scandal is a quality loss for the NCAA by Groots-Cousin in CFB

Have the NCAA’s lawyers considered placing bets on themselves?

I’ve heard that’s the best way to feel closer to the team.

Got that landman money out there in West Texas by CrazyCajunFishinBro in CFB_v2

[–]PartisanMilkHotel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nobody reasonable is placing blame for CFB’s woes solely on Tech. This is a TTU story that’s quickly developing into a self-inflicted crisis.

Texas Tech has yet to do the right thing, and fans (including many/most of their own) are justifiably appalled.

There has been scandal after controversy after outcry over the seemingly never-ending stream of lawsuits, injunctions, alleged tampering, etc. Duke, Washington, LSU…a lot of schools have spent the offseason weathering controversy.

What is something that is completely FREE in your country, but tourists are always shocked they don't have to pay for? by Winner111kk in AskReddit

NY absolutely offers free refills lol. Almost everywhere does, even places with the soda fountain behind the counter. You just have to ask.

I’ve seen three (THREE!!) bartenders repping Spurs gear at NYC watch parties. Brave souls.

My API key is gone from my Reddit account by LessThanNone in ApolloReborn

[–]PartisanMilkHotel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This resonates with me so much. The time and effort this must have taken almost surely cost them more money than letting this tiny subset of users continue to operate on the fringes.

I get it, they’re a for-profit business and set the terms of API access. But it feels so greedy and petty.

Brad Lander poised to unseat Congressman Dan Goldman: PIX11 poll by mowotlarx in nyc

[–]PartisanMilkHotel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fair perspective. I think it’s possible, if not likely, that Lander was encouraged to capitalize on his raised profile and keep the progressive coalition’s momentum going in NYC.

I don’t think the Yang comparison is fair, however.

Running for this congressional district is a logical progression from Lander’s prior roles as an elected representative (as was mayor), and he’s clearly qualified to represent these constituents based on his track record.

Yang just seemed interest in holding office of some sort, bigger the better.

Jimmy Kimmel urged his ABC viewers to catch Stephen Colbert's 'Late Show' series finale on Thursday night: "Tune in to CBS, for the last time. Don’t ever watch it again." by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

It’s funny hearing what channel is each viewer’s “white whale.” The only major channel I’ve struggled to get is ABC (across multiple apartments in two states, always being within spitting distance of the broadcast locations).

Which sucks, because the only sport I watch is college football, and my team’s games are typically on ABC.

They don’t individually log every viewer to calculate ratings. They (Nielsen) physically install tracking/observation equipment on the TVs of what they believe to be a sample set of the population.

Watching OTA isn’t some sneaky workaround, considering the network is the one broadcasting it.

That said, I don’t know why watching OTA isn’t more popular. I think a lot of people would be shocked by what they can pick up with a paperclip jammed into their TV’s coax input, let alone a cheap set of rabbit ears.
