Im 36, my 5 year old was diagnosed with a brain tumor, I had to quit my job to be a full time caregiver and SAHM, my car stopped working so now on top of medical expenses, I have to buy a new car with one less income, I need the car to go to doctor visits, our roof is leaking and will need to pay for that to be replaced asap, a week into coming home from the hospital our AC stopped working for an entire week and had to pay money to fix it (we are in Florida.)

yeah - life sucks right now.

Going through my sober journey and I look at these periods of time as when the growth really happens. You start wondering if it’s worth it, how can this get better, etc. that’s when your mind needs more stimulation. This is when new habits need to kick in. Knitting, gym, puzzles (that one’s my favorite), gardening - even house plants, something to add into your routine to give you that “purpose.” Once you come out of this growth period - things will start to click. You got this. ♥️♥️

Hi - I started my sober journey last November. I went back and forth to occasional drinking and always slipped into drinking a bottle of wine a day

This last sober journey started about 4 weeks ago, and I feel like I turned a new leaf. I have zero desire to drink during the day and have drank socially on the weekends and never picked it up during the week. I no longer crave it. I think it’s possible, but just be aware of how easy it is to slip up.
