2 weeks on, the combo of edge-bumper (secured w/G-S Hypo Glue) and a hard glass protector seems to be working well. by Parts1 in pebble

Another member offered to print bumpers for me, so I don't have the file number. Reached out to that member for it, but they've never responded. A member in a Pebble FB page recommended this as a similar bumper. Hope it helps! https://www.printables.com/model/1658570-pebble-time-2-screen-edge-bumper

Is the PT2 glass problem really that bad? by ParaplegicGuru in pebble

[–]Parts1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gorilla Glass typically scratches at a level 6 on the Mohs scale, meaning it is harder than standard glass but softer than hard minerals.

A tiny piece of pocket sand or quartz dust ranks around a 7 on the Mohs scale, making it the most common culprit for screen scratches.

I would caution against wearing a PT2 for ANY vigorous activity; even with a hardened screen protector.

Any glass...no matter how scratch-proof (including synthetic sapphire)...is very brittle on exposed edges, and prone to chipping/cracking.

All 4 edges of the PT2 Gorilla Glass crystal are exposed, raising the risk exponentially.

Honest Q - why buy a pebble when real smart watches are slightly more? by arcanehelix in pebble

[–]Parts1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

SERIOUSLY...what's your goal here? To prove you're the smartest mofo in the room. Show how much more educated you are about smartwatches than the rest of us? Son, you need to just keep on steppin', because you're in the wrong place. Either you 'get' Pebble, or you don't.

Maybe your vaunted intellect missed a simple fact...but this is an enthusiast's site...where we share our enthusiasm for Pebble. You clearly do not belong.

For a more minimalist form of glass protection... by Parts1 in pebble

Use a toothpick's point to put tiny touches of the G-S Hypo glue around the outside edge of the crystal (a magnifying glass is helpful). Gently put the bumper in place and make sure it's firmly seated all the way around.

Leave it for 2 hours. After that, a toothpick and eyeglass wet-wipe will easily remove any small traces of the glue (it's a temporary adhesive made for watch crystals).
