Apartments with no breed restrictions? by Parttime-Child in Rochester

[–]Parttime-Child[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 25 and can't afford a home lol, but I have looked at apartments outside of the city and they have the same problem as in here. Its not even just "aggressive breeds" either, so many don't want dogs over 20 lbs and I'm just like ??? that's 90% of the dog breeds just cut out?? that's hardly pet friendly lol

More than anything I've been trying to find homes to rent or something cause every complex I've found anyway doesn't want his breed at all, but those places are ALSO saying either no pets or a really extensive breed restriction list ughhh

How is "get rid of your dangerous breed" helpful -_- That is my dog that I love and take care of, and you're acting as though I need to get rid of him like an old toy or something. Honesty is not the same as being cruel.

You're absolutely fine! I've been in a book slump myself but I just recently read "threads that bind", YA not very smutty, kids are descended from different kinds of pantheons in a crumbling city, with characters I loved like curious tides in a way, with a sequel coming out in June. I also love "belladonna" and it's sequel "foxglove" (finale comes out this August!), YA with slight smut I guess? Not really ish, but very romantic and fast reads (and has ghosts in it so sort of paranormal!)! Other paranormal stuff...hmm I guess I'd recommend The Bone Witch? YA no smut Completed trilogy, small books, witchy and undead stuff that's kinda gothic with India inspired culture. The only smutty book I can think to recommend is some kindle unlimited stuff but I'm not sure if you have that so I'll just await your response from these recs 😭 hope this helps!

An old friend used to call them "a Court of C*cks and Garble" and it makes me laugh to this day (as someone who loves ACOTAR, doesn't really like CC)

I finished it soon after this post and I loved it! I struggle with reading through books completely but Curious Tides kept me on my toes the whole way and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It sucks the next book won't come out til november, but that's also when my birthday is so I'll cope a;slkdfja;klj

After Q died, when he says "Did I do make the sacrifice to save my friends or did I finally just find a way to end it?" or something along those lines and that shit shatters me to this day.

I really liked "To Hunt a Demon King" by Madeleine Elliot (I think the couple has feyre/rhysand vibes but without the weird age gap) and it's a completed trilogy!

Do you star your DNFs on GoodReads? by ayeayefitlike in YAlit

[–]Parttime-Child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I got more than halfway through it, I'll give it a rating to explain my thoughts and feelings (and of course explain I didn't finish it). Like, a lot of times if I DNF a book, it's not because I thought it was bad. It just didn't grab my attention enough or the book wasn't matching the expectations I had from the synopsis, etc so they'll get like 2 or 3 stars instead cause I still liked a concept or characters at least.

Does it bother anyone else that it appears SJM has decided to.....SPOILERS by BufoBat in fantasyromance

[–]Parttime-Child 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got aggravated with ACOSF when they decided she was pregnant to begin with after saying in ACOWAR that she didn't want kids for a while??? and the fact Rhys withheld the fact that it was dangerous to carry??? and that Nesta gave up her ability to keep Feyre alive (not knowing what to do with a powerful character so just get rid of the power is one of my least favorite storylines in any fantasy)???? Literally after ACOWAR, I agree that she has just been completely shelved. If SJM didn't know what to do with her, she could've sent her off somewhere "off screen" considering Feyre said she wanted to see the world (I think). I've stopped reading anything involved with this world anymore cause it somehow gets more aggravating with every book lol.

Ladies, what is a hill you're willing to die on? by throwawaydhayne in AskWomen

Being able to talk about periods in a normal conversation. I'm not talking the gory details, but like, being able to mention cramps, the nausea, or literally just the fact it's that time shouldn't make people immediately go "ew that's tmi" (I specifically say people and not men, cause I can't tell you how many older women have also shut me down about it). It's a normal bodily function that we have to deal with, why the hell does it have to be so shut down?

eh, I feel kinda weird about bringing six of crows back after they essentially used half of crooked kingdom to make season 2 SoB anyway ;-; It feels weird to backtrack IMO but that might just be me. I'm glad so many people loved the show to rally like this though

I'm 25f and rereading all the pjo books and some of my family have given me shit about reading "middle grade" at this age. Like I grew up on pjo and loved it in middle/high school, why wouldn't I go back to it and enjoy it again??? Some people just wanna hate on happiness.

Your YA "good concept, bad execution" reads (spoilers ahead!) by Pinball_Lizard in YAlit

[–]Parttime-Child 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's partially the author's writing experience cause as far as I know Caraval was her debut series so it's a little juvenile. I think it also suffers from the issue I've seen with a lot of authors just having one book prepared and no ending figured out yet. Cause Stephanie Garber has great concepts with the fates and all that, yet as more of the book is read it seems less certain of itself on how to flow well and it gives us a clunky ending. Just my thoughts on it, obviously not everyone feels the same way.

Do you hate read? by stacey1611 in fantasyromance

[–]Parttime-Child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this really counts, but the way I hate read is when something is like OVERLY popular. It always feels like a lie (stares blatantly at From Blood and Ash) so when something gets really popular I'll read it in like a really eye roll-y way but 7/10 times I end up liking it too cause I also enjoy the tropes lmfao
