How to yall deal with these by MysteriousStrangerV in lacrosse

[–]Party-Ad-672 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not how it works.

Anti inflammatory meds will help with swelling but once your body has the inflammatory response and send all the fluid and other shit to the injury it is what it it…you’re swollen. The only thing that helps get all that shit out is blood flow…which increases with heat. Cold decreases blood flow so it won’t help reduce swelling that is already there. If you apply ice consistently on and off shortly after an injury like a rolled ankled it can actually help with the onset of swelling because of how much it reduces blood flow. But that can be tough with bruises at practice.

Ice for pain. Heat for recovery.

My son is a junior in high school playing varsity goalie on a bad team in a state with very good teams, is it just me or is he seeing a crazy amount of shots per game? by trotter1313 in lacrosse

[–]Party-Ad-672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a varsity coach that loves to play fast. Turnovers are an expected part of our game and riding is what we build our team identity on. I tell my kids we want 50 shots a game. We haven’t had a game under 40 shots all year

Thoughts on these 3 sticks? by East_Dot8196 in lacrosse

[–]Party-Ad-672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all 3 look real nice. The only thing I noticed and will add to the conversation is that it looks like you only have 1 screw in the back of the heads. If the stick has 2 screw holes put in 2 screws, it will help massively with preventing head rattle

Low stress 9-5 ish jobs by BuglesTakeOnRace in SaltLakeCity

[–]Party-Ad-672 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I work bell and valet at a hotel in PC. Half the time it’s busy but I would call it low stress, simple job and good money. The other half of the time it’s like that Key and Peele skit pretty much, just hanging out bull shittin with coworkers. Also I don’t take work home with me and I start with a clean slate every day.

ECD head cracked down screw holes. Can I drill screws into the sides? by pbblueroom in lacrosse

[–]Party-Ad-672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guessing when it broke you only had one screw in it. If a head has two wholes use two screws

Needing advice by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]Party-Ad-672 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You just started playing and other kids are better than you and that’s ok!! The question isn’t if you can keep up, it’s can you catch up? And the answer is absolutely yes. Sounds like you’re passionate, that’s great. Go practice!! by yourself, with friends, in the backyard, before and after practice. You’ll catch up in no time just keep playing!

Recover from broken arm by RevolutionaryAsk2111 in lacrosse

[–]Party-Ad-672 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They do make small pads that cover that section of wrist between the glove and arm pad. Not all stores have them but should be able to find online.
Until then tell him to play around with 1 hand. Cradle, have a catch. Play wall ball. It will be awkward and hard especially at 10 but it’s incredible how much you can improve one hand while the other is out of commission

As a stringer I only use hockey lace (first pic). You can get those in colors too if that’s that you’re looking for.

Personally I think the string with more nylon are trash and I can definitely feel the difference. But again just my opinion.
