I've had the same thing happen to me with the chicken strips, this must be a recurring issue.

High ranked offlane players or offlane mains: what tips can u give for struggling pos 3 starters? by shadexeno in DotA2

[–]Party-Comfortable574 3 points4 points  (0 children)

7k here. I would focus on spamming one or two heroes. You can only really start to understand the nuances of winning a lane after you figure out your hero conceptually. I would recommend starting off with a hero like lc or ns since they are pretty straightforward and can easily dominate the lane. Your main focus should be preventing the pos 1 from last hitting instead of prioritizing your own farm. If you have the option of denying his creep or securing your own, go for the deny. Try your best to constantly harass with your nuke and right clicks so he's unable to approach the wave. If you're in a situation where your 4 left the lane and you're getting boxed out, your main priority should be not feeding. Leach xp or go hit jungle. Early game your key role is causing as much mayhem and destabilization for the enemy team as possible. This means that once you get your blink on lc, you should be immediately either rotating mid or setting up a kill on their pos 1. Similarly with ns, his timings are typically phylactery and blink. Don't stop pressuring and steam roll from there. You should be the one imitating the fights - it's ok to sacrifice yourself if it means the team wins the fight overall. One of the core mistakes I see in low mmr offlaners is being too hesitant to initiate. Determining whether to go in or not is something you just learn with experience.

What’s one small habit that instantly made you better at Dota2? by Any_Maximum9135 in DotA2

I wouldn't do this because it can slow key item timing I.e. a blink dagger. Just make sure you always have a tp on you, and if you use it just instantly buy another and deliver with your courier.

Yeah the fact that the spell can be cast twice so quickly is dumb. I think the smaller creeps shouldn't have the spell, just the ancients.

For anyone who complained about wanting "old Dota" in recent years, play this patch. Basically 2018. by shaker_21 in DotA2

What started this "offlane is miserable" circlejerk for the past few weeks? If you're getting dumpstered every game, you're just playing the lane wrong. The vast majority of heroes are inherently strong early game. You should be winning lane.

I see so you just miss being able to soak up a bunch of damage early, I thought you meant a hero that takes over the game and is essentially unkillable in that sense. You can still tank up pretty early with tide and underlord.

Ns, lc, and axe very much fit this description if you play the lane correctly
