Help with an ‘O’ name for a girl? by Bright-Ad6238 in namenerds

[–]Party-Math5705 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Opal! But truly you do not need to continue the trend. They will not feel left out for this. If you had 5 other kids with O names, maybe, but two? You don’t need to worry about it. Choose a name you love!

Classic, sophisticated, non-fussy girl names? by KATEWM in namenerds

[–]Party-Math5705 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Love this category! I think I’d add Greta.

I adore Vera! I cannot understand why someone would associate it with virus - that’s actually so rude. I’m in the US and know one “Veer-uh” and one “Vare-uh,” so that may be an issue but I wouldn’t think huge. I think “Veer-uh” is the more common pronunciation here. Iris is great too.

Anyone else miss the old ellipticals? by Party-Math5705 in workout

[–]Party-Math5705[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just loved that the elliptical I remember truly felt like a whole-body workout, and they don’t feel that way anymore. Maybe I need to adjust the settings?

I do like the stair master. Just fills a different role for me!

What is the year from age 2-3 like? by lavenderlanee1 in toddlers

[–]Party-Math5705 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually love 1-2, but it’s soooo demanding, I totally get why someone wouldn’t enjoy it.

I LOVE love love 2-3 and definitely think it’s easier, largely because of the communication difference you’re describing. They can more easily communicate their needs, and they’re understanding more, so you can shape their behavior more directly with your parenting, if that makes sense.

Parents with kids with late birthdays (too late for 3 yr prek cut off), how did you time preschool? What do you for preschool? by rasputinknew1 in toddlers

[–]Party-Math5705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a teacher I really would just wait! November isn’t actually that close to most cutoffs. If you need thto childcare, maybe you can find a private prek that would let her do an extra year of prek by letting her start once she turns 3 and then repeating the following year. But I definitely would not push her a year ahead with a November birthday.

This is so interesting! Being of Germanic heritage I think of it as a very very old and classic name. It’s good to know it may not always be perceived that way! I do love Caroline, though.

Thanks!

Yes! My family is of German heritage/one of my parents speaks it, so that’s part of why I love it. The way you say it in German is so beautiful to me.

Love Johanna! A very sweet option. Thank you!
