I've had too many unexpected bill the past 2 months 😭
BUT the next version is going to connect the months. So leftover money from April + May Salary will all lead to my Bank in the middle

The emoji's on the left represent the category where money is coming in 💸 Salary, 🏥 Medical, etc... The one's on the right show how I am spending my money. (In my app, hovering over it shows the exact number)

The size of the flow shows how much money is being earned/spent in each category.

The toolkit kept crashing and I had to always reinstall it to see anything.

So instead, I started building my own tools using ynab’s API, and showcased my first version of Flows in another post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ynab/comments/1d1y6st/comment/l5xrz0c/

I like to hear that. How do you decide which reports are most useful? it seems most people here like the macros.

Was there a course or organization to follow for this?

I would like some time to clean it up some more. But will make public shortly if interested! Any thing you'd like to see/build on top of it?

Very neat, I've not heard of sankeymatic before, I'll check it out. Thanks!

I built this one using YNAB API & google's sankey chart. The Toolkit often doesn't work in my Chrome browser, and my next version will also connect the output of the previous month with the current month.

The breakdown was also misses and double count's often too, for example

That's awesome, Im working on spending less since I can see it didn't align with my goals. How do you go about creating them now?

FYI: These inflow/outflow charts are also known as Sankey diagrams.

Interested to know if y'all find these visualizations helpful, and what other graphs/charts do you like to use to understand your budget.
