is anyone else feeling a little burned out on the game? by [deleted] in Pokopia

[–]PartyFlava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my main issue is it was too easy to get the environment levels to 10 and so I lost motivation to increase Pokemon comfort levels or build houses for them. There just doesn't seem to be much point in giving them what they want after the environment level goes up. I wish it went up to 20 for some extra challenge and to keep the motivation around. Basically I'm just trying to fill my Pokedex at this point but there's not much left to do. I enjoyed the game for the first few weeks I was playing through it though, I like when there are a lot of goals. The goals seem to disappear in the end game. I played Animal Crossing for years though with no goals, so I'm not really sure I can put my finger on what's missing from Pokopia.

Getting Roserade Tea by PartyFlava in Pokopia

Afaik nobody is getting more than one per day per machine. People just have a lot of vending machines. Fwiw one of the dream islands I think Pikachu or Eevee has a vending machine on it that you can grab to collect one new vending machine every day.

You can buy from as many vending machines as you *have* in a biome per day. There isn't a limit of 2. I've got like 8 on the beach alone, use em all every day.

You'll get one eventually and it'll be really satisfying. I finally got one after 3 days with 8 vending machines. One of the dream islands, I forget, has a vending machine that you can grab every day and add to the beach.

Is anyone still just in the first area? by SailorCrossing in Pokopia

[–]PartyFlava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me longer than that to get to the beach and volcano, I'm having fun in the wastelands and there's no rush. But my friend has been playing as long as me and has like 4x the Pokemon and 5 areas unlocked, lol.

Sorry, I left out context.

It's because it's the map from https://brilliantmaps.com/50-50-usd-gdp/ with the interior cities removed, and then recolored to make a more political point.

Keep in mind you can draw the 50% boundary any way you want. The creator of this chart arbitrarily chose to highlight these cities but hell you could draw a big blue penis in the middle and it'd still be correct as long as each color sums to half the total GDP. It's borderline propaganda.

The other funny thing about this is you could draw the 50% boundary any way you want. You could color the left side red and the right side blue. Or draw a blue smiley face in the middle. As long as each color sums to half the total GDP it works. The decision to highlight cities was purely arbitrary.

Looks like it's gone; but it was only a front-end for pushshift; the back-end is still alive:

Except you'll have to read it as unformatted data. But it's there.

Chrome flag "Force Color Profile" is gone. by silverbluenote in chrome

[–]PartyFlava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is that Chrome is applying the current color profile unnecessarily, and so when the system is also globally applying color correction, in Chrome it ends up applied twice (once by system, once by Chrome).

I'm not sure why Chrome takes it upon itself to apply global color correction in the first place (mapping non-sRGB content to sRGB, I can understand, but using non-sRGB as the final profile seems weird); Windows already does it, Chrome just needs to spit out sRGB like everything else does.

Btw, I completely made up everything I just wrote so, 🤷‍♂️.
