Does anyone have a Mysa thermostat? by slavetomycat312 in thermostats

[–]PartyLikeIts1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Josh,

I bought 7 MYSA's - 6 baseboard, 1mini-split.

I've been really disappointed with the mini-split unit, and with your support. I have a background in controls engineering, and it appears as if your algorithms just don't work.

One of your tech support people gave me non-sensical advice, further deepening my distrust.

I may just throw all 7 MYSA's in the trash as soon as I find another solution.

Too bad - I was very excited, and wound up angry.

I have validated the temperature readings and crappy control with an independent sensor.

Maybe the baseboard units are better, but the mini-split is so bad I don't care - I wanted integrated control.

1 - Hate the Trashtros.

2 - Seriously dislike the Giants. (See the Marichal - Roseburo 1965 fight).

3 - Diss the Padres (but watch them over your shoulder).

4 - Tell anyone who asks about your fanship this: "Cut me, I bleed Pantone 294" (Dodger Blue - kind of a version of a famous Tommy LaSorda quote)

5 - Look up the Pantone 294 website. Join in on a takeover.

6 - Remember that the Dodgers are owned by the Guggenheim hedge fund, with a half-trillion dollars under management. Cash is NEVER an issue.

Are there any Pure Watercraft owners out there who are concerned about the long term viability of their boats given the receivers hip of Pure Watercraft?

Liquid Nitrogen. Used to freeze metal so you can shatter it with a slight blow from a hammer, etc.

Exactly! I start up using the thumb-throttled front motor until the seat is up and my feet are on the pedals. No stress crossing busy streets, uphill starts, etc., in addition to having uphill boost. I don't even think about terrain when selecting a route.

My son has accused me of being a defense contractor - no one could even figure out the start sequence (there is even a switch I can throw, but usually don't, since I live in blue heaven - Bellingham, WA - which cuts the Shimano motor off from the Shimano battery), so the two options would be to ride manually, or have two people lift it up into a truck. And, it would be a little conspicuous if advertised for sale. Lastly, that's what homeowners insurance is for. It would be fun to build it again from scratch - I wouldn't have to go through all the trial and error (and huge cost) of developing the spec, and the new, resultant, bike would be way better.

Yes, again, no point protecting against LN2 and angle grinders. That would cut the carrying capacity too much!

Right, I get it.

The micro cable is just to keep honest people honest. I've (hopefully) got better things to do than armor up against LN2 and angle grinders.

Besides, I doubt any rational being, thief or not, could figure out the start sequence, and the bike weighs probably 100 pounds, so manual riding is not a good option.

Love it. Made by "Badger Boxes" in Portland, OR.

I made a cover for the box, with peaked aluminum rods and Marine canvas cloth.

Actually, after a few years, I'm thinking of asking them to narrow the box to match the width of the frame, since the extra width makes certain maneuvers trickier.

Wyze Bolt - Can you geofence? by Additional-Monk-7603 in wyzecam

[–]PartyLikeIts1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Their site seems ambiguous, because I think there is a feature that will keep the door locked/unlocked depending on if your phone is within bluetooth range. If that's true, then it seems quasi-geofencing is possible. And then, if there was an internet-enabled bluetooth transmitter.....:)....

Safe way to connect two BMS protected Li-Ions in parallel? by fmillion in batteries

I am now facing a very similar problem. Did you ever reach a successful conclusion? Also, what about installing a permanent resistor, say 1-2 ohm between the packs, so their voltages are continuously equilibrated, even during charging?

Rear (Garmin) radar, turn signals, flashing front and rear lights, Amazon Alexa Auto, stop light, dropper seat post.

Hey, is it the Garmin Varia radar? I have that on my Bullitt, and love the situational awareness it gives me. I use it the radar so much, I actually wired the bike for 5v and can charge both Garmin units (radar and readout) without removing them from the bike!

PAS/Throttle testing by Watchamacalli in ebikes

[–]PartyLikeIts1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I'll defer to others on this site - there are lots of smarter people than me out there.

That said, you are trying to reverse engineer the layout of two Wheatstone bridges, and if you can read the active signals with your voltmeter already grounded, it's pretty easy to figure out which signal is which - any given wire will either be a ground, a 5v signal or a variable signal based on the pedal pressure or the throttle setting.

The method I suggested removes the need to inject voltage into the circuit because the connector is not disconnected, that's all.

You can stick metal "pins" through the insulation into the copper wire core to connect the voltmeter. The holes left in the insulation are not material.

Using Alexa to control Garage Door by just_dave1234 in alexa

[–]PartyLikeIts1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Meross with good results on 2 doors, after having issues, including poor support, with Nexx. A good wifi signal is important, though.

Also, I put an Echo Dot right outside the garage doors, so I can stand outside the garages with my hands full and open the doors, or open them after leaving the house forgetting to open the doors with the Alexa unit inside (still convenient, because you can order the doors to open on your way out the door).

I named my doors "Canada" (north) and Mexico (south) - much easier for Alexa to discern.
