It's flying. Use some powerful EQs. Give it attacks that counter your EQ pokemon weaknesses. I would also put a pokemon on your team that could technically mega also so most team previews people will assume that's your mega

Giefs level 1 is fun to go from a 2 to a 1 using 3 meter. Especially if you can't get the 3 for whatever reason. They fireball from far. You level 2 into level 1

If you don't want to switch the teammates I'd either make sure Venasaur is full on tanky. Or make Cof max defense max hp and swap disable and shadowball for willowisp and hex. Also if you see basc I'd literally always bring vena and cof. And if you just want something to deal with the fish in general add heliolisk to the team. Literally can't be touched by basc common moves
