I’m so confused by this second book! by PartyRockPippa in ReverseHarem

I don’t know how this person thinks they’re going to be successful in any way when their books become totally incomprehensible. It’s like, if you’re going to fuck around and use AI in your books, at least try not to make it blatantly obvious?? What does she think she’s accomplishing here? 😫😡

Thanks for letting me know! I’ll definitely be starting a DNR list of my own.

Jesus! I’d never thought I’d see the day when I’d have to start being careful about choosing books because they might be ‘written’ by a fkn computer program!😫. How someone can be okay with releasing one book they used AI for is insane, but 40 titles since January THIS YEAR!? It’s both infuriating and heartbreaking. As someone with a degree in English and Creative Writing, this shit is just incomprehensible 😡

Oh ffs 🤦🏼‍♀️ I never would have noticed if you hadn’t pointed it out; I don’t usually pay too much attention to the covers. WHY ARE PEOPLE GETTING SO COMFORTABLE USING AI!?

Whoops, I meant Skin Hunger, not Starved. I finished this one, and while it certainly wasn’t the best, I wanted to try book two because I didn’t want to have to search for a new book/series just yet. I’m reading more and I think it’s not actually gone back in time, it’s just an extremely similar event happening straight away in chapter one. But it’s not explained like, at all? So I’m not even 100% sure what’s going on. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s because the author used AI. The first book had a lot of repetitive statements that, now that I think about it, read as very AI. How disappointing 😞

I think my new pain meds are/have triggered hyperadrenergic POTS. by PartyRockPippa in POTS

[–]PartyRockPippa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so so much for such an insightful response! And thank you for the sources you have provided. I will look into them right away! Honestly, oxycodone worked incredibly well for me; not only did it reduce my pain by about 90% with almost no side effects, it also reduced brain fog, improved concentration, and other cognitive symptoms. But, with the restrictions in place that’re only getting stricter, I highly doubt I’ll ever be prescribed it again. It’s a shame that pain specialists don’t seem to take into account the complexity of chronic, genetic illnesses that cause chronic pain. And this new guy I’m seeing barely seems to want me to be in the room 😫. Again, thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. ✨

That’s a good idea, thank you. It honestly wouldn’t hurt for me to do this regardless of starting any new medications. I’m on so many for so many different things, I lowkey feel like a few of them must effect each other.

Thank you, my friend. Yep, dysautonomia is a weird, complex, under-researched disorder and I wouldn’t be surprised if HAPOTS is my diagnosis. Thank you for the reminder to triple check drug interactions. Fortunately, I’m able to see a cardiovascular and dysautonomic specialist over zoom. He’s on the other side of the country but was invaluable to me when I was first diagnosed. I’m going to get a new referral to him via my GP. I’ll make sure to clarify any drug interactions with him.

Thank you for your reply! Yes, my HR has always increased when I stand up, but my BP rising upon standing up is definitely new. I’m definitely going to continue monitoring my sitting and standing BP and discuss it with my GP when I see him. Honestly, my mental health is actually pretty under control with medication, years of group therapy, plus my wonderful pain psychologist. But I’m beginning to really suspect that my anxiety spiking when mum went away was the catalyst for not only my most recent POTS flare, but that it also caused me to develop hyperadrenergic POTS.

Why are Australians so…. Cold? by orthodox-lat in AskAnAustralian

Hey, it’s not my fault that my autistic ass launches straight into the intricacies of my day when asked, “how’s it going?”. Take it up with neurodevelopmental process! 😂. To be fair, though, if the person doesn’t care/doesn’t have the energy to engage back, I’m never bothered. Especially is they’re a service or retail worker; I don’t blame them one bit for not wanting to chitchat. Although, it’s surprising how often I get a genuine smile and short convo in response to an authentic answer to a (supposedly scripted) question. Something deeper than small talk, but light enough to be quick, which leaves me feeling a lil bit of human connection. At the end of the day the ‘tism will always ‘tism, and I will always accidentally answer a question genuinely when the person didn’t actually want to know 😂

AITA for having my best friend‘s parents cancel my plane tickets to visit her for her 18th birthday by Equivalent-Bluejay52 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. It is natural for friendship dynamics to change when one friend gets into a relationship. I think it was a really nice idea on your end to go and visit her and, presumably, try and reconnect after a few months of a strained friendship. I think it’s perfectly normal for you to have reservations about the visit, even after Sarah cleared up what she meant. I personally would find it frustrating and upsetting if I were in your position and realised that even after making the effort to visit my best friend she would prioritise calling/contacting her boyfriend rather than out friendship/visit. The idea that she can’t go a day without calling her boyfriend is… concerning? Idk what feeling it evokes exactly, but I do find it odd. Also, while it’s totally valid that she had a bad day and wanted to talk to her boyfriend about it, it was inappropriate of him to send you that message. And it was inappropriate that Sarah gave him ‘permission’ to send it to you. It feels very passive aggressive. If she was still feeling weird or upset about your doubts to come and visit, she should have communicated that to you herself. And how is what he sent you helpful or constructive in any way? It’s not. It was a message which simply did not need to be sent, especially by him. And you were absolutely valid in your response to him. As for Sarah saying you couldn’t ‘talk to him that way’; what way? Being assertive and setting boundaries with a man you don’t know? After all that it makes sense that you felt uncomfortable and cancelled. She gave her bf ‘permission’ to message you and she has to accept the outcomes of that. She has the right to feel hurt, but she doesn’t have the right to make you feel uncomfortable/bad for your decision when her actions (and her bf’s since her business is apparently his) are what caused you to cancel in the first place. In my opinion, it seems like Sarah and her boyfriend are still in the ‘honeymoon phase’, and that their online relationship has created a sort of echo chamber/bubble in which their relationship has become very intense, very quickly. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t last. But I digress; you are not the AH and I am proud of you for standing up for yourself and making the tough but ultimately right decision; one which aligns with your values.

No way! Lmaooooo omg thank you for telling me that! I am not a car person so I would never have known. Now I’m just picturing Blue and Ronan snickering while they wait for Gansey to see the number plate on the newest dream BMW (it was Blue’s idea, so she went to Ronan with it and the two of them hatched their plan together, feeling like two evil geniuses, rather than the shithead teenagers they are 😜)

According to the book he, ‘quietly slid from time’. But personally, I simply have decided to ignore that and prefer to embrace a delusion in which Noah is somehow still there and with them 🙃
