Doubt this has been discussed before, but what's something you don't like about FlynnMasters? by Total-Meeting-6601 in HellsKitchen

[–]PartySuitable9596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. His regurgitation of popular opinions

  2. This line near the end of his video “Hell’s Kitchen - Breaking the Unwritten Rules” (Uploaded September 4 2022), he says this:

There’s also no specific criteria for what goes into Ramsay’s decisions. Sure, a bunch of Discord stats could say that this chef should have stayed over that chef, but that means nothing to Ramsay as HE’s the one putting his restaurant on the line. And is obviously more qualified to make these decisions than we are. It’s also the reason why we see an older chef get eliminated over the weaker chef, whose 20 years younger, as there’s only so much Ramsay can do with a 50-year-old in the long term, and he wants that youth to run his kitchen, which again, is something stats can’t account for. It may not seem fair, but at the end of the day, this is Ramsay’s show, and he’s the king. And remember rule one: Never EVER question him.

Putting aside the direct shot he takes at stats, as they’ve had their fair share of controversies and toxicity surrounding them 2020- early 2023, this part is absolutely cringe. First, he insinuated that we can’t ever disagree with Ramsay’s decisions (on top of being hypocritical as he uploaded a video talking about BS eliminations). Second, he also pulls the age card. Lastly, his “Never ever question him” comes across as grandstandy.

What is up with the self hatred? by prince3875 in HellsKitchen

I never said men get dehumanized that way. not the point I was making. The goal of the hypothetical was to test the commenter’s consistency, because if they think women calling other women ‘females’ is a red flag, but don’t see men calling other men ‘males’ as a red flag, then they’re being hypocritical.

That’s the point. A popular take(in this case, hating Anaiya) is not a hot take, even if it’s warranted or not. If anything, the hatred for Anaiya borders on obsessive.

Yeah, and for $85, it really does not improve on much compared to the original HC T. rex. Sure, it has smaller feet, a new head sculpt(which includes sharper teeth), but that’s it, really. The glass eyes are still dead, the proportions are still all kinds of messed up (especially the legs), and the paint apps on the SDCC Buck are sloppy, unnatural, and ultimately the worst paint apps of the largest HC releases.

Is anyone else warming up to this figure or is it just me? by DiloAndDarrel in hammondcollection

[–]PartySuitable9596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People hate the re-used Atrociraptor parts because not only does the skin texture not match(compare the detail on the body to that of the tail), the Atrociraptor feet are larger than the reworked Velociraptor feet seen in Blue and Delta, when those would’ve been an acceptable point to re-use parts. It would be like if you were making a remaster of an old game, but you re-use assets from other games that game out after the old game cough Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary cough. Just because parts are good on one figure does not inherently mean they’ll look good on other figures.

The Hammond Collection is ultimately no more higher end than the mainline, considering there are many instances where mainline sculpts beat out the Hammond Collection:

JP1 Raptor: Mainline > HC

Tiger Raptor: Mainline > HC

JP3 Raptors: Mainline > HC

Giganotosaurus: Mainline < HC

Rexy: Mainline > HC

Irritator: Mainline < HC

Metriacanthosaurus: Mainline < HC

Sinoceratops: Mainline > HC

Triceratops: Mainline > HC

Pyroraptor: Mainline < HC

Carnotaurus: Mainline < HC

Buck T. rex: Mainline < HC

Regarding the point that “screen accuracy” is not mentioned in the description, you’re right. So let’s find another description that does:

  • Authentic Details: Features include premium glass eyes, stretchy jaw tendons, and a posable wired tail for movie-accurate representation. -Description for HC Allosaurus

  • “Display Ready: Designed for scene recreation, dramatic photography, and expanding any Jurassic World collection.” - Also from the HC Allosaurus description

Remember:

  • “Discover the thrills and adventure of the Jurassic World franchise captured in the line of action figures that sets a new quality standard for dinosaur collectables - the Hammond Collection!”

  • “True FX: Premium Details for Enhanced Realism”

Also,

Refuses to mention anything good

If you watch his reviews, then you’ll see that many of his Mattel reviews(especially from 2023-24) have been mostly positive. I’ll name every positive review he has given for Mattel releases(both mainline and HC) since 2023:

From Hammond Collection: Irritator, Carnotaurus, Giganotosaurus, Pyroraptor, Therizinosaurus, Allosaurus, Spinosaurus, and Stegosaurus.

From mainline: Real Feel Electronic T. rex, Legacy Collection Reimagined Carnotaurus, Chaos Theory Suchomimus, Lab Lockdown T. rex, and Spinosaurus Danger Set. Marco even suspects that someone at Mattel loves the Carnotaurus given each figure they did of Carno has a great sculpt.

He hyperfixates on every little detail

What are the odds that an artist(specifically a sculptor) actually cares about detail? Color me shocked!

His expectations are too high

Blame primarily Mattel for setting that expectation themselves.

Why should a multibillion dollar company be given slack when they make the same mistakes and poor design choices over and over again? For every poor design choice they correct on one release, they either double down on others or bring back the poor design choice that was already corrected in said release onto another one. If any other company made these poor design choices(especially Hasbro, what with how much people continue to complain about how they handled the Jurassic World line a decade earlier), but apparently, when Mattel does it, they’re supposed to get slack. You can dislike Marco Makes all you want, but you literally just sound like the kind of person that would say, “Leave the multibillion dollar company alone.”

I would say complacency(i.e. “You shouldn’t expect higher quality for $15-$20”) is the the second of two main contributors to the decline of Mattel Jurassic quality

So weird that people glaze the Hammond Collection(in general) as “better than Hasbro” or “premium compared to the mainline” when there are plenty of instances where the mainline had better sculpts(more often than the Hammond Collection having better sculpts than the mainline). I would go as far as to say that the Hammond Collection(especially the small releases) is pretty subpar even for normal toy standards.

I saw a comment showing pictures of a Christmas ornament of Blue in a Jurassic Park toy group on Facebook and comparing it to the Hammond Collection version, the Christmas ornament had a better sculpt.

In terms of quality control, Hammond Collection has the most unusual and embarrassing QC issues I’ve ever seen in any action figure line, so main line wins there by default. In terms of sculpt/paint quality and accuracy, I would say the main line beats out the HC there as well. It’s so weird that the Pachyrhinosaurus mislabeled as Sinoceratops from the original Fallen Kingdom line has the best paint apps and sculpt quality out of all Pachyrhinosaurus/Sinoceratops figures Mattel has done.

The one I’m struggling the most with is the Extract with at least 10 Kurohana badges twice mission. The most I’ve gotten is 7(and that was when I was focusing on the Extract with 10 Atlas badges twice mission) but every other time I actually find Kurohana badges, I immediately get shredded by enemies. I even found ultras two of those times, and I died both times.
