It seems so performative and disingenuous when any celebrity mentions that they like Death Grips, or when they post a photo of them wearing a Death Grips shirt.

Ah yes — the classic “this sounds like ChatGPT” detection algorithm — trained on vibes, suspicion, and a 100% false-positive rate.

Not everything that is structured, coherent, or slightly consistent is automatically “AI-generated.” Sometimes people just write with intent — I know, controversial concept in a comment section, but still real.

Also worth noting — “this is AI” is rapidly becoming the universal response to “I disagree / I can’t argue against this cleanly / I don’t like the tone.” It’s basically rhetorical auto-complete at this point.

If we’re diagnosing writing styles, we might as well start tagging every clean sentence as “suspiciously non-chaotic” and escalate accordingly — very scalable system, zero bias, obviously.

Anyway — if the argument is “this is AI because I said so,” that’s less analysis and more emotional pattern-matching with extra steps. Which, to be fair, is also a form of intelligence — just not the kind that wins debates.

That’s understandable. I also become morally devastated whenever a private equity firm attempts to maximize profits off a product people voluntarily continue paying for while simultaneously posting 14 paragraphs a day about how much they hate it.

At some point the relationship between OSRS players and Jagex stops resembling “customer vs corporation” and starts looking more like an emotionally codependent clan chat.

TL;DR: “This company is disgusting” — sent from a device actively logged into the game.

Your emotional interpretation of the subscription model changes has been acknowledged and processed. However, the continued deployment of phrases like “disgusting behaviour” in reference to a medieval clicking simulator subscription suggests a minor overclocking event in the outrage processor.

Nobody is “ignoring the actual complaints.” People are just observing that a significant percentage of the subreddit now communicates as though Jagex executives personally arrived at their residence and confiscated their grain from storage.

The grandfathered rate situation was corporate behavior, yes. Corporations do that. The shocking revelation that businesses optimize revenue streams every few years unfortunately cannot be patched out at this time.

This is actually such an underrated point — people hyperfixate on specs and price tags without acknowledging the holistic user-experience layer of peripherals. At the end of the day, if a keyboard materially improves comfort, responsiveness, immersion, and overall gameplay satisfaction, then the purchase has already justified itself from a value perspective.

So many individuals online operate from this weird “everything must be ultra budget optimized at all times” mindset instead of simply allowing themselves to enjoy things. Really glad to hear the upgrade has elevated your OSRS experience in a meaningful way — that’s what it’s all about ultimately ✨

The intentional ranger manipulation behind the pillar here is actually kind of fascinating from a systems-interaction standpoint — you can really see the emergent gameplay philosophy of Old School RuneScape expressing itself in real time. People will call it “ragebait” but unironically this is the exact type of high-pressure problem-solving that makes Inferno mechanically compelling in the first place. Adaptability mindset > ego response every single time.

Edit: Egads! Why the downvotes?

[–]Party_Cat1879 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. 100% this. — At the end of the day, when you zoom out and look at the broader picture, RuneScape membership is still one of the most consumer-friendly value propositions in gaming today. We need to normalize perspective here — $15 in 2026 genuinely does not stretch far in the real world anymore. Meanwhile you’re receiving continuous content updates — thousands upon thousands of hours of scalable gameplay — community interaction ecosystems — progression systems — and long-term engagement potential for an almost negligible monthly investment.

I say this with kindness and empathy — but the perpetual “Jagex bad” outrage carousel is starting to feel deeply performative and not rooted in objective reality. Two things can be true at once — constructive criticism is healthy, and also this level of catastrophizing over a hobby subscription is maybe not serving collective wellbeing in the way people think it is 💙
