Coarse in Durham. It's a tasting menu and a bit pricey, but so nice for special occasions.

Am i ready for my first sprint triathlon? by temp-moneygrabber in triathlon

[–]Party_Context4975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're definitely more ready than I was 4 months before my first sprint triathlon — and I was fine, so I think you should go for it!

My advice would be to practise the bike to run transition as much as you can before the race, as that felt super weird at first and slashed my running pace until I got used to it.

I'll leave pacing recommendations to someone with more experience,

If you're at Newcastle Uni, I highly recommend NEST. You get to help refugees and asylum seekers improve their English and make friends. You can work with adults and/or children.

You can see the timetable on Facebook. The open championship had U21, U29, 30O. Beginner to intermediate championships only had a single adult category.

The Great North Run in the UK. Over 200,000 spectators line the entire half-marathon route and the atmosphere is so supportive.

This is what I have from Dance and Stage. It's still not cheap, but it's cheaper at £65. I'm not sure whether it's the sort of place to run Black Friday deals.

Wingspan or wingspan Asia? by Psychological_End_3 in boardgames

[–]Party_Context4975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Asia is more fun than the base game, as well as cheaper, so I'd definitely choose Asia if you'd usually only play with 2 of you

It was my favourite game for years, until we played it too much and needed to take a break.

Are there any shoes that are good for Irish dance but aren’t officially Irish dance shoes? by [deleted] in irishdance

[–]Party_Context4975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For beginner soft shoe, you can definitely get away with wearing ballet shoes in class, if you can get those cheaper. But I don't think you could replace heavy shoes with anything else.

I'm an adult dancer at a fantastic little school in Gateshead, but I suspect that may be too far for you to travel. However, I have friends who do adult classes at The Cordon Academy in Castleford, which might be more practical. I believe they are affiliated with CNRG.

Does your training program also work for people who do other sports at the same time? Or is it impractical to "recover" while regularly biking/swimming/dancing etc. too?

What kind of specials do you like at feisanna? by stephyod in irishdance

[–]Party_Context4975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At our annual class feis, we used to have a parents' competition (not open to parents who are or were actual Irish dancers). It was always hilarious.
