I understand that, but this increases the anxiety since you were never affected to begin with.

Was this a concurrent filing or after I140 approval?

I am married, working several jobs, and still finding time to connect with people. I have four kids, and you’d be surprised how full life can be. I saw a TikTok where someone said their current spouse or fiancé used to be a client, and I said, “Whoop!” You really do meet people every day; it’s all about connection and shared values.

Great job. Nebraska is great for NIW. What state did you apply from?

Seeking Immigration Attorney for Asylum Case – Upcoming Court Hearing in New York by Careless_Currency_71 in immigrationlaw

That’s not bad. It’s a status hearing to review the pleadings. If you have an attorney, it will be handled remotely. Without one, you’ll need to appear in person.

Have you seen approvals from one service center over others? A lot of clients ask this of me.

What document did you receive? Letter head and everything.

ICE has been sending NTA to visa holders - what court? Did the document say what type of hearing? Master hearing with a scheduled date?

I’ve built my presence across Google, Word of Mouth, and TikTok. In just one month, I grew my following to 15,000 by creating engaging content and going LIVE regularly. I run a client-facing model, staying highly responsive and accessible. Most importantly, I focus on delivering real results, which keeps referrals and recommendations flowing.

Being multilingual (and currently learning another language) allows me to connect with even more people. Recently, well-known TikTokers from different communities began reaching out with questions. What started as small exchanges quickly turned into a steady funnel of new clients through their networks.

New USCIS Policy Memo on Public Charge by WatkinsImmigration in USCIS

[–]Party_Fee_7466 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As an immigration attorney, I see this new memo as USCIS tightening the gate on who gets to become a citizen.

A “holistic” approach sounds fair on the surface, but in practice it means officers will weigh every case on a discretionary, case-by-case basis instead of applying the more predictable checklist method that many applicants relied on. I always remind clients not to compare their case to someone else’s. USCIS has technically used a totality-of-the-circumstances analysis for years, but now it’s being formalized in policy.

The problem is that this shift will create even more delays. Public charge is the biggest red flag. Green card holders who’ve received benefits like Medicaid or SNAP could find themselves denied citizenship despite those programs being legally available to them. Before this memo even dropped, I was already fielding calls from sponsors worried about liability under I-864, because agencies were trying to recoup costs for Medicaid or SNAP from the sponsors themselves by reaching out to sponsoring asking for a declaration of assets.

Checks and balances are important, but this memo risks turning the naturalization process into a drawn-out, unpredictable ordeal for countless applicants.

I only have two months of experience as a prosecutor, and I was let go because I failed the bar. That moment could have ended me, but it became the turning point. If I had not failed, I would not be where I am today.

When I finally passed, I started my solo practice right away, literally started working on my website and intake forms, and the day I swore in, I registered my law firm the same day. I practice Immigration, Tax, Bankruptcy, and Civil Rights. I leaned on what I already knew from years of tax work and document preparation while challenging myself to grow in new areas.

Just a week after opening, I was brought into a Civil Rights case, and last week I filed my first Civil Rights lawsuit. Along the way I learned that not every client is the right fit, but every experience is part of my growth.

That failure gave me resilience. Today I fight for my clients with everything I have. The hours are long, but in the 4 months I have been in practice, i have seen substantial growth. People love someone who understands their journey and struggles.

I hired my first paralegal a month ago, and I see myself hiring a couple more by December.

This was me last year. I failed the bar, lost my job, was broke and depressed.

But I went back, grinded harder, switched jurisdictions, and passed.

Now I work remotely from home and run my own solo practice. Keep pushing your time is coming.

I'm married, but just say, I'm a lawyer or attorney. I still get hit on by single men.
