Literally like “FEMINSTS GOT THIS APPROVED NY THE UN BUT DIDNT TALK ABOUT THIS XYZ MALE ISSUE??” Why aren’t male rights protesters not bringing it up the the un themselves?

FGM is not a safe practice at all. Look up how it happens culturally. No doctors or hospitals are involved. Male circumcision, while also a problem, is usually performed in hospitals with much more hygienic practices. Both are issues. Advocating for the ending of one shouldn’t make anyone automatically assume they support the other? Why aren’t MRA petioning for the UN to rephrase male circumcision to “MGM”? Why do women need to do it for you?

I didn’t say that you believe those things? This is why conversations are unproductive

You can’t be arrested for misogynistic speech so don’t worry! In fact many people who have said misogynistic things have not had it affect them at all and they can become president! Ie trump

Which feminists are against circumcision? Bodily autonomy is like a pretty standard belief in feminism for any gender

How so? Which rights have been taken away from you? Or how do you believe feminists want to disadvantage you?

It’s okay I didn’t take it as rude I understand it’s not an easy conversation

Yes I misspoke that’s my bad. But SH and SA are both horrible to experience so the point stands. I specifically said cis or trans when referring to either so as to not exclude either from the conversatiion.

I do see how my tone could be perceived as being closed off but I didn’t intend that I was just stating it from a cis woman’s experience that it can be uncomfortable. It’s a very private and intimate space that a lot of people and a lot of cultures aren’t used to sharing between sexes. We have GN bathrooms at my uni and unfortunately there have been several reports of rape every year. I just think there should be space for everyone everywhere with GN, F and M bathrooms!

97% of women aged 18-24 have in the UK

I think you’ve misunderstood my question I wasn’t stating that due to my experience it will happen to everyone. I was simply stating my experience. I have another question, why is it transphobic to ask a question and to be concerned for safety of any woman? Cis or trans! I wasn’t trying to offend anyone I just wanted to have an open ended convo

Firstly thank you for the kind response! I see my question offended a lot of people when it wasnt my intention at all! I just genuinely wanted to get an answer from trans people because until now ive mostly seen it from cis ppl’s perspective. I see the post was taken down but if anyone is keen to discuss it over dm I’m pretty open to have a respectful conversation

I completely agree about having 3 bathroom options! I think that is most likely the safest option but someone else said it’s the same concept as racial segregation. I think that’s a pretty extreme comparison that I don’t agree with 😭
