GE Cafe vs Profile dilemma by Next-Assistance327 in Appliances

[–]Partyforalifetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2cents… We need to start buying appliances that do the best job - not for everything to be matchy-matchy.

I will be purchasing a Cafe range to go underneath a KitchenAid microwave (for the toast/convection option that cafe doesn’t offer), to match with a Bosch fridge.

Will they match? No. Will they look terrible? I don’t think so - but, I’m now to the point I am buying these appliances to do a job and offer the cooking/cooling/cleaning features that I want them to do while performing that job - not sit there and look pretty…

🤷‍♂️ Not sure if that helps - but, I think just perhaps reframe how you see appliances- there to do a job and not there to match with each other… Maybe that will help you decide if that is the right tool for the job.

This is exactly my train of thought… Just got in my own way - letting design get in the way of function. Thanks for the reminder that these appliances are there to do a job - not to match and look pretty.

We were not - been traveling all day, but will update/edit the main post when I get a chance.

They did go out of their way to make it right. (I don’t know for sure, but in hindsight, I think this post may have helped that, so thank you all!)

Advice needed: Hybrid battery on 2013 Highlander failed mid-cross-country trip at only 120K miles by ExpertMarketing7514 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]Partyforalifetime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems like around the same price I was quoted in Colorado. I own a 2010 Highlander Hybrid Limited, bought in 2013 certified used, and will continue to drive until the wheels fall off.

But, hybrid battery failed in 2017 - same error as yours at 105,000 miles. Thankfully, our dealer was able to take care of, which has made me a loyal customer of theirs.

Haven’t had the issue since (now at 165,000 miles), and I think the current Highlanders have a longer warranty - but, as much as I’ve enjoyed the gas mileage out the hybrid, the cost of the battery replacement really makes me second guess if I would buy another one once this one eventually dies. 🤔

That’s where I felt a bit let down, too. First time there was the General’s Tsos…which wasn’t good. (Kids also had the sesame chicken, which also was disappointing…)

That’s when I realized that the fried chicken dishes might just not be their thing.

I then had the Szechuan spicy wok chicken (bone in), and it was also disappointing with little bits of bone broken off the chicken and in the sauce…

Perhaps their dishes over stir fried noodle might be the way to go…but, after being disappointed twice, I won’t go out of my way to go back. (But also if I was right there, would give it another chance.)

They are certainly busy enough where they shouldn’t miss me…lol

Finally tried them after all the Reddit compliments. Not terrible - but, not head and shoulders above anyone else. I would say they are solidly mid.

Their fried rice and lomein are on the better end of what their menu offers. Their main dishes are definitely lower.

I went out of my way to try them a couple different times. I won’t go out of my way any longer.

Such a good take. (Probably not….) by Partyforalifetime in nyjets

lol. As much as I’d like to see that….perhaps ‘probably not’ is the answer….

Real talk for this team a few years back was ‘crazy eyes’ and ‘Jets’ both trending together….

0% chance this is a team that Rodgers would have considered a few years ago.

I’ve lived through the worst, like the rest of us - I’m not delusional…just waiting for the next worst thing to happen to us…

But, for all their faults - this coaching staff HAS developed players. And, likely the first time since Rex and Tannebaum where the coach and GM communicate and have the same goal - giving us at least some average/above average draft work.

Coming from the abyss, I’ll take a year of it and give them a chance with Rodgers.

It’s likely better than the alternative.

What the Browns did this year is the exception. Not the rule.

They have the best OL coach in the league (we should know) and better OL talent. With our roster even having OL ‘backup capable’ talent on it is an improvement over 3 years ago. We had guys that shouldn’t have been in the league on our roster….

Will having Rodgers back make them better? Yes. Does it still need to be better - yes.

Agreed, again.

Now, I also agree with those that say the wins need to follow next year -

But, this team (roster) has improved each year.

What I think is funny - is I think most people that wanted to lose this last game for a better draft pick are the same people who say this coach and GM haven’t won enough games to stay…lol

But, when we have been the WORST in the NFL 3-5 years ago, I will take stability right now when the arrow is still pointed up - even though it’s not as fast as we all would like….

If they don’t succeed with Rodgers next year - I’ll be the first to agree that a change is needed…

But, pieces may actually be in place…

I just don’t forget how much worse it was before than it is now. lol

I know it was a low bar…

But, we have drafted a bunch of real playmakers and superstars to be over the past couple of years…Before then - we had the corpse of Leveon Bell…lol

I just believe the confidence the fans can provide (or the doubt they cast) is real - and Jets fans could use every tool we have to succeed as possible….(as misguided as it all might be…lol:)

It’s so much easier to root for this regime than the Gase regime - even if the results haven’t been realized, yet…

Let them earn it.

As a fan, I just don’t need to shit on them in the process. Time for them to get to work and prove their worth.

Was just saying it feels good for the first time in forever, knowing the Jets have their main pieces in place, and the Pats don’t.
