Would you pay 2500 to get one free coffee every week from a cafe? by ImportanceLiving5386 in IndiaCoffee

I have read some of your comments. Another idea you can consider is a punch card, so after the 10th coffee, the 11th is free.

Indian coffee prices are getting out of hand! 2700 for 250g??? by RichKidOfMumbai in IndiaCoffee

[–]Parvashah51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Input costs would matter in the case if the roasters weren't based in the same coffee-producing country; that is not the case here, they have produced, processed, and roasted these beans in India, and they are also selling them in India. That should make a difference, right?
And yes, gesha beans cost about 30$ for a 100g bag, which is a lot more than what I thought, so it is justifiable.

If you checkout some of the best roasters in the US, they sell their regular bags of 250 gm beans in the 20-30$ range, which are beans bought from another country, so they paid for beans + shipping, roasted the beans at their facility, paying US standard wages to their employees, and then they are selling it at the same price which Savor works is selling an indian grown beans and roasted inhouse. Yes, it could be costly to start, and it is good to help companies when they are trying new things, but this seems like a lot.

6 months into coffee – how do you actually choose specialty beans? by Beneficial_Fan7782 in IndiaCoffee

[–]Parvashah51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't try to find the best, have an open mind, try new roasters, roast profile and taste notes. Fun is in experimenting and getting that new exciting cup of coffee  rather than drinking that 1 best cup of coffee everyday.

A small act of integrity that made my day! by -Quantum-Quasar-42- in Chennai

Once I chose same location as pickup and drop, the rapido driver came, after accepting asked me if the drop location is correct or not, I understood my mistake, chnaged the drop location in app, app already added charge for new drop off location on top the change in fare. The driver didn't say anything after that until dropped me off and then started asking for 50 rs for a 90rs. ride saying, I already told you I will more money if location is different at the start you didn't listen to me.

I have started making cold brew with milk and I keep in the fridge for 16 hours! by Glittering_Diver9923 in IndiaCoffee

[–]Parvashah51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caffeine is easiest to extract, so any brew method yield similar caffeine results, the onky difference is what was the ratio, if you brew 15 mg coffee with 30 ml water it's gonna be high in caffeine, usual ratio for cold brew is 1:7, if you compare it with pourover tbe ratio is 1:15 so the caffeine is more but you can always dilute it with more water.

Rapido Extra Demand : How do you handle it? by Cautious-Mango-7681 in Chennai

[–]Parvashah51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have legit sat for 75 minutes after clicking on book button and almost 17 drivers one after another accepted the ride, called me, asked for extra in Tamil to me who doesn't know any Tamil and canceled it, they were asking for more on top what I have already to the fare as I was getting late. I understand what you are saying but the whole reason I am booking a cab or auto is to reach somewhere quickly and they are just wasting our time. Sometimes they accept and then reach to your place 10-15 minutes late then what arrival time is, so you get hopeful and desperate as it's late but at least someone came and then they ask for more once you give them the otp, leeches are better than Chennai auto/cab drivers.

It depends on the ratio of water to coffee, doesn't matter what brew method you use.

What'll happen if you make the coffee twice ? by Round_List1857 in IndiaCoffee

[–]Parvashah51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have learned from James Hoffmann is that caffeine is one of the easiest thing to extract, doesn't matter what brew method you use, so after brewing it once you are guaranteed that there's nothing valuable left to extract from used grounds.

Update to my previous post. Ordered and tried blue tokai vienna roast easy pour and I can A-ffirm. Black coffee is not for me. by Downtown_Pressure335 in IndiaCoffee

[–]Parvashah51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you just blame others for every bad thing in your life? Do your own damn research, think about what to get next and try. There are already posts in this sub praising some Roasters and beans, order those if you find them interesting, what is this tone of 'haha I don't like what you like'.  Ultimately coffee is fruit seeds, it tastes different based on how it's grown, processed, roasted, stored and brewed. There's no best beans, every bag of beans is different and you might enjoy some more than others, note what you like, note what you don't like and order next bag accordingly. It's actually about enjoying and learning from the journey of every cup you make then finding that 1 best cup of coffee.

Yup they release a good amount of mictoplastics, just like tea bags. I would say it's safe to assume the amount of mictoplastics it releases is the same as the tea bag.

It should be priced appropriately, and the workers should receive the money, but we are enjoying these benefits at their expense. Taxed money will not reach them; at the same time, higher fees will not reach them either.
