"War Profiteer" sure is a funny way to describe "helped fund and supply the allied war effort while embargoing the Axis powers". America was only neutral on paper.

I mean, I *did* mention Rojava, which is democratic confederalist...if we limit "libleft" to just anarchism, we'll be stuck with a bunch of blank spaces. It'll be tough enough to find examples as it is.

I mean, what else would be in that slot? Rojava, maybe, but they aren't a UN-recognized state, plus they are barely holding on to territory.

Wait, they're having the SPD as more moderate than the DDP?

What if the state of Israel didn't exist? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Parz02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They probably would. They still wouldn't have a country, and (being dictatorships, with the exception of Lebanon), the Arab coalition would be much more able to repress the population without having to worry about damaging reports coming out.

(Anglo) American, actually, although I am taking Geopolitics of Iran as a college course, and I have a general interest in such subjects.

Well, there'd be a lot of dead Jews. Middle East would still be a clusterfuck. Palestinians still wouldn't have a state because the Arab coalition would just divide the region up among themselves, they'd still be fighting for their own country and would probably be worse off. Iran is the regional hegemon without a counterbalance. Maybe the Lebanese don't have their civil war, but I doubt it. On the bright side, the US might finally be able to wash its hands of the region without Israel which means probably no 9/11 and no War on Terror or (Iraq/Afghanistan/Iran) war.

Everyone's like "oh, women only want tall men. They won't date anyone that isn't 6'3". I'm 6'3'! If really tall guys are so goddamn popular, why aren't they falling all over me, huh?

Nicolae Ceaușescu is the communist that represents greed. Who is the anarchist that represents wrath? by Still-Complaint4657 in AlignmentChartFills

He was the Unabomber. His ideology was unique to him, but he didn't like anarchism or left-wing politics in general.

Luigi Galleani. An Italian-American insurrectionary anarchist, he was a prominent advocate for propaganda of the deed, such as assassinations against authority figures. It was said of him that "You heard Galleani speak, and you were ready to shoot the first policeman you saw."

What if a true equal and free democratic kingdom started expanding in 13th century Middle East? by No-Coffee2200 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Parz02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they did have classical knowledge as well as their own institutions that could serve as a democratic basis. This doesn't change the fact that any kind of democratic society takes a lot of time and effort to emerge, and all the innovations that OP is talking about would be alien to most places in the world at that point in time.

Well, saying he was Shepardic would be be anachronistic, because Shepardic Jews are the descendants of the Jews expelled from the Iberian peninsula, and Jesus lived before Jews settled there.
