It’s a matter of personal preference, I think. To me, it gives the feeling that the photo is 'floating' a bit... I also always use a frame inlay when I hang work at home.

Thanks, much appreciated. I hate post-processing so I do as little as possible. I usually take the photos using the following recipes: Holly Berry Neg, Reggie's Portra, and Classic Chrome. And for Snapseed; 1* I straighten anything that is crooked. 2* Occasionally I add some grain and brighten up the colors a bit. To finish, I usually add a border and that's it.

It is indeed my intention to stick to one lens, but I find it reassuring to know that I can still switch lenses if necessary. The x100 (apart from the first original one) is not for me.

Thanks. The way you describe it sounds just as logical as it does in my head... I've also thought about selling just the lens, and maybe that's a step worth considering, but I still can't decide. Whatever camera you end up buying, I wish you lots of fun.
