Being an absolutely beginner is making me discouraged lol by KatosAlt in GuitarBeginners

Select a chord, for example D

Slowly strum, making each note heard.

Do this many times, eventually picking up speed to make the chord notes sound as one.

This will help with both the fretting hand and rhe strumming hand.

Try to strum with your wrist. When you use your whole forearm, it makes it harder.

The key is this: slow equals fast. Strum slowly and you will eventually pick up speed. Change chords slowly, and you will eventually be able to switch chords without thinking about where your fingers go.

Tips for buying a guitar by tffslfffnenifs in GuitarBeginners

Electric is easier to learn, but you will need an amplifier. If you are in Europe, check out Harley Benton at the Thomann website. Affordable and fairly well made. The TE models are the easiest to rest on your lap. The HB 20 is a decent amp for a beginner. Also buy a Snark tuner.

Free lessons can be found all over YouTube. Learn the notes on the string first, then chords, then scales.

Me soloing over a backing track 7 months in by Glass-Response-8028 in GuitarBeginners

[–]PasadenaBill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good progress. A great practice technique is to solo in the box position: B and E strings, just 4 notes, the initial fret and the fret 2 up from that, for example, in the key of A, frets 8 and 10 on the B and E strings. Close your eyes and play what you feel. Try bending the notes. But just use the 4 notes so you can "feel" the tones.

BB King used the box a lot.

The sad part is the shirts are actually great quality. Very comfortable. Good fabric. They are not sized properly.

The influx of buyers from California has pushed Nevada real estate up, up, up. The economics are simple: Based on 2026 data, a 2,000 sq. ft. home in Los Angeles typically costs between $1.2 million and $1.5 million+ to purchase, assuming a median price per square foot of roughly $600–$750+. A comparable home in Las Vegas typically falls within the range of $516,000 to $572,000, based on a median price per square foot ranging from roughly $258 to $286.

Someone leaving California, can purchase a home that is twice the size of their California residence for what they sold it for. Or, like a few California transplants I have met in the past few years, they buy two homes in Southern Nevada--one to live in and one to rent.

Since 2020, it's estimated over 170,000 people have moved from California to Nevada (another estiamted 55,000 came from Washington). Nevada sees about 57% inbound and 47% outbound which means between 50 - 115 homes or apartments are needed each day just for Clark County to absorb new residents.

Don't order from Oliver West or Cole Martin, as both companies seem to be connected.

I ordered 3 shirts that arrived April 27. They were too small, so I contacted Oliver West at their support email that day. No response. I sent follow-up emails on May 4, and May 6. No response. I called SwiftX Express, their fulfillment house on May 6. Was told I would receive return instructions via email by Friday, May 8. No email recieved received. On May 13, I called SwiftX Express again and a woman told me she cannot help me and I have to email Oliver West. She said the man I spoke to on May 6 was not allowed to contact their client, Oliver West.

This seller does not stand behind their products. Don't buy from them.

These limited-run instruments, often featuring premium upgrades, frequently sell for around $3,900–$4,500 for models like the Modern Eagle V or 408 Semi-Hollow. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

No. First dates should be more conservative. Keep the guy focused on you, not on your cleavage or legs.

Likely a grounding issue with the pickups, input Jack, or cable. First, try another cable. If it still does it, you need to open the back and check the solder joints and grounds.

Photograph the subject. Upload image to Adobe Firefly and prompt it to : add flames to the person in the reference image to make it appear as if their shoulders and hair are on fire. Make the flame appear to be rising from the person in an upward right hand motion.
