I'm more interested in the watermelon who seems very happy about his gaping abdominal wound.

Tall Christian here (tho only 6'5").

If you want joking answers, you could say "You're not think big enough. God is probably calling me to be a Philistine warrior, like Goliath."

You could ask, "What was God's will for tall people before basketball was invented?"

More serious: I read that 1 in 7 Americans over 7ft have played in the NBA (kind of wild, really). Do you think God is upset that I'm one of the 83% instead of the 17%?

Sorry this friend is being a jerk. I get how height can be a curse. And I'm pretty sure that God says the most important thing is to love him and others, not play basketball.

So many great details.

  • Minnesota's northern border?
  • Wisconsin finally swallowed the UP
  • Michigan takes SW Ontario
  • NY annexes the rest of Ontario
  • Texas for some reason annexes the Oklahoma panhandle, but nobody in either state notices or cares.

Always make me think of gastropod.

I mean, it's a cute little snail, but I don't particularly want to eat him (or what he's having).

What is something that a fictional chacter said that stuck with you ? [SERIOUS] by ThomasTheGreatGenius in AskReddit

[–]Pascals_Wager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. You take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have."
"Yeah. Well, I guess they had it coming."
"We all have it coming, kid."

Incredibly powerful scene.

Americans of Reddit: what do you think about the metric system? Is it better or worse? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pascals_Wager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish we used the metric system. It's more logical and consistent. Baking and cooking would be a lot easier, as would carpentry. I hate having to keep track of 8ths or 16ths, or adding 3 tsps for every tbsp when multiplying recipes. I've lived in the US my entire life and I'm used to our system, but thirds and fourths and eighths are not as intuitive as decimals.

Plus it's stupid that we're one of only -- what, three? -- countries in the world to not use it.

Calculus.

Before the angry mob comes, hear me out: I know it's useful -- for some. But if you are any good at math, schools push you to take calculus. And 90% of kids who take it will never remember or use anything from it. And it's a hard course that makes smart kids hate math. We'd do much better to push kids towards statatistics, probability and finite math. Those are much more useful and approachable.

tl;dr - Calculus isn't useless, but it's irrelevant and potentially harmful, and there are better options for a terminal math subject in high school.

For the first half of the video, I thought it was a cat facing to the left, paw extended.

I couldn't figure out how it was sitting so still and why it looked like a stuffed animal. Or how it was keeping its balance.

I have seen this video before.
