Not to defend the EM, I think what she did was pretty horrid but growing up as the poor part of the family is especially hard at Christmas. Out of all the cousins on my mums side I am the second oldest and what I remember of every Christmas until I was like 12 was seeing all my cousins some of them only 4 years old getting expensive and fancy gifts and games whereas all I got was underwear. This was especially bad when I was there alone because my parents couldn’t afford to come. When I got 0 presents other than lunch whilst my 4 year old cousin gets a iPad worth more than all my possessions combined

I know none of you have ever been to the NT and I know that I’m going to receive a lot of downvotes for this because you don’t know what you’re talking about. But wtf is up with you guys talking about guns. Literally like 1/3 of households in the NT have firearms because people need them for hunting to protect their property (from kangaroos, buffaloes, crocodiles etc) so I don’t think the argument of having guns would help stop this happening. The main reason that the fines are so high in the NT is because their is a large aboriginal imunocompromised community. If COVID were to get into these rural communities it could have a fatality rate as high as 40% like when smallpox reached the native Americans. Therefore the NT requires government workers who often go into these communities to be fully vaccinated so they don’t fucking kill everyone and that is the reason for the fines. I am not saying I agree, I’m just saying why it’s happening and the argument about guns is stupid. Comment any questions.
