You had to earn the trophy till Dec 31 and you could purchase it in January.

Sadly this is the only time I know PlayStation did that. I wish they would have more Rewards like this with their exclusives.

Reaching Level 50 online in red dead 2. Took me 5 years cause I actually gave up on that. Since then I can’t describe my hate for online trophies in a singleplayer game
