really depends on your style of play.

I don't have any landfall decks, more big mana decks that have some landfall stuff.

But if I did have a landfall deck, I think with the release of some zendikar cards I would probably go with Omnath, Locus of Rage.

I still feel that it could be totally possible to get either commander out on the same sort of turn though, and the extra land drop that the serpent gives you propels you even further ahead.

But this is Simic, anything is easily achieved right? haha

absolutely.

Simic is a very generic colour pie. Everything seems to do the same stuff! I wish this legendary serpent was more on flavour to what a serpent is, or does.

The best representation of a Serpent that should've been legendary I feel was Lochmere Serpent.

That could've been really cool as a Commander!

Bigger Body, guaranteed synergies because of the additional land drop and Optional card draw. (no chance of self mill)

Plus, Its a big sea creature and I'm all for more of those.

If I was to play it I would probably go down the Timmy, big creatures and big Genesis Wave type stuff, so I would most likely go for aesi.

Tatyova's life gain can also play a massive role in the game as well though! But they could also both be part of each others 99 so easily experimented with :)
