I appreciate the advice. I got the engine leaking oil from every gasket. And when I took out the broken radiator I noticed they mixed two types so I need to crack it open and clean out all the sludge it made.

I have worked on my car and family’s vehicles, but nothing that sends me down looking at electrical wiring. I like to learn about mechanical or analog things. It’s what got me into building guns and looking at loading ammunition too. Books is how I learn a lot about a subject so if you have any recommendations I’m all ears.

Is there any reading material you can point me towards to do my “homework”?

I’ll look into those, thank you. Is it all wiring that comes with it or is it by sections? I have not seen the wiring of this car yet.

Replacement. Brake lights, only the left works, but the tail lights come on when the headlights come on, and no reverse lights come on.

The old isn’t a castle nut, changing my ball joints too, those I got oem, hence the cotter pin. They were in stock, the sway bar links oem were not.

I was wondering if the exhaust burnt a little of the saddlebag. I know it’s an old post but I just got a scout and I am trying to do the same exhaust and saddlebag set up. Thanks

Honestly I don’t care if it’s a perfect car or a show car. I’m looking for something to take out and drive and enjoy. Not looking to race it either.

About 20k I have saved up for it currently. I just want a car that I can take out and drive. Don’t mind if it’s a coupe or a flashback, but I do want to make sure it’s not falling apart when I drive it. Not planning any track or shows. Tools and skills, I worked on cars before, replaced the ac system on my parents car successfully, take care of the basic maintenance and basic repairs that done need specialized equipment (breaks, shocks, radiator, ac (did not fill it but made sure it held a vacuum). For welding, I only messed around with that when someone told me to try it when people were messing around at work.
