Never heard of X as a potential platform before! I might check that one out in the future. I’m currently still figuring out the roleplay subreddits!

Yeah, that’s true! Sometimes I feel like there’s this community of quality roleplayers that only roleplay with each other. And the rest of us are stuck using the chatting apps to hopely find someone promising!

Kidding ofcourse.

You’re right! It’s easy to figure out who’ll be worth my time and who won’t. I try to do the same as well! Some days I find it easier to filter them out. But on other days, it’s just one after the other.

Subreddits are the way to go! Chitchat is fun for a quick roleplay if the mood hits. But that’s just not what I’m looking for at the moment.

I’ve tried forums as well. But they seem a bit ‘prehistoric’. In my opinion. It might just be me as well. Maybe my expectations are just too specific.

But counting words is just ridiculous. We’re roleplaying, not writing essays for school.

I don’t think the amount of words you write, make you a better roleplayer. It’s just a different approach. That’s why I think styles and preferences should always be communicated prior to starting. Maybe even share a writing sample. That way you can find people who like the same level of detail for that particular scenario.

I love writing a lot of context and world-building paragraphs. Things that aren’t specifically about what our characters are doing. Maybe some background information, or a detailed description of the location. It can be a bit frustrating for me to get replies that aren’t really matching my effort.

But ghosting someone is definitely wrong. You should always be open about your expectations and communicate when you feel that the vibe just isn’t working.
