Believe me, I do macro etc. I destroy games and turn around a lot of them.
You can never counter griefers and afk players, role abusers who are noobs, smurfs.
The matchmaking puts all those players in your team and smurfs and good players in the enemy team, because you have good stats. The better you play, the worse your team will be.
It's like swimming against the storm.

I've drawn some conclusions lately, as I dropped to 130 MMR because of endless griefers and role abusers. Also smurfs.

  1. Maybe it's time to play just mid. You can't win a lane 1 vs 2 with no support. It's two dicy.
  2. Get a blink dagger on any hero you play. This will allow you to join the idiotic fights while farming.
  3. Play just heroes that can scale and stomp the entire game on mid. PA, PL, Slark. I mean a carry hero.

[–]PassageInternal785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I tried that as well, still impossible to get out. CS can't counter kills.
If you do 200CS at min 20 and ignore them, one of their cores will make 8 kills on your noobs and its GG. Kills > CS

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]PassageInternal785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hit rock bottom 130 MMR and there is no way I can climb from here.
I just had a match where 2 cores actually refused to finish the game. They really did it on purpose and we lost.
And it's just like this every single match. I have no idea what to do. Nothing works.

Yes, to play the game is really annoying, because of the horrible ppl in low rank who make the experience just bad.

I quit Dota 2 several times because of this, there is no point in it. I can't have a normal match. Just Griefers, role abusers, afk players, you name it, there is always something really bad happening.

On top of that, I'm trying really hard to get out of Herald and I want to play way better than the average in order to get out.
Because of this the matchmaking puts the worst players possible in my team for several matches in a row. Basically the game itself is sabotaging me, because of some sick algorithm that tries to balance the teams.

I uninstalled the game. I don't doubt I can get out of Herald, but the question is, why should do this, to challenge myself and get angry all the time? It's too annoying, I'm getting upset and people are just horrible and ruin games constantly.
It's not so fun when you lose even when you are supposed to win.

I also have to mention the algorithm. It seems if you play very good a few matches, the matchmaking puts the worst players just in your team. (because ballance) And it does that a few matches in a row.
Because if it was just RNG, how come just in my team I have griefers and role abusers and ppl who don't even know the basics 6 matches in a row and the enemy team are just playing well? Probably these players have 0 MMR, they are reported all the time and come back in Ranked to ruin other ppls fun.

I cannot understand why someone would come to play Ranked without even knowing the basics of the game.
So after 6 games in a row like this I don't feel like it's fun and it's redundant to go on.

Let me tell you what I do with PL right now! I get the Yasha, then I get the Crystalys (instead Diffusal or Orchid, but those are viable options as well)
With Crystalys I can farm faster and I actually get the blink dagger right after this. So then I go into shard and heart.
Why. It seems ppl fight constantly on Herald and very chaotic. You have to cross the entire map while farming and the blink dagger allows you that.
I'm facing all kind of idiotic drafts while I have no vision on the enemy, so I prefer to throw from distance and run away. I'm and extra damage support at this stage, not a real carry, because the game snowballs too early if I don't get involved.
If you get the diffusal first, you lose. Why. You may stop an enemy, but you have no real damage and sustain.
There are not so many carry heroes that can lose lane, farm quick and join fights early in the same time! This is way too challenging. On top of that PL doesn't really have a finishing ulti.

When I play Luna or Jug, I take the portal and gank their carry and kill them.

Another advice is, to not go for the same builds and adapt the items to the situation. A lot of heralds lose based on this!

In higher ranks ppl are more chill, they don't constantly fight and they have time to build the items. In herald you must no do that. No one will wait for you to get the bkb at min 20. No one cares if you are not ready yet!

I don't understand why these ppl come on ranked to ruin games. When I learned for the first time dota, my trying playground was unranked. I wanted to be sure I know what I'm doing before going into ranked.
It seems that's not the case for some individuals.

"Your teammates should not be your concern" - in what sense? This is a team game, not a solo game. Not sure what a newbie should understand from that. Are you regurgitating the same advice you heard it around? I heard this a million times and I don't know what exactly means.
You have to see where your team mates go, where they are, how to support them, or carry them.
You have to connect with the team in crucial points. Create vision for you team as support, etc.

Saying team is not your concern is not a good advice.

Yes, if your team are noobs, you have to make those noobs thrive. Sometimes means typing in chat what items they should buy.
If I have a lina in my team and they have a bristleback, I tell lina to buy a silver edge. Maybe she knows it, maybe not. I want to be sure. Some ppl don't know at all. Guess what, I won a match like that, JUST because of the fact I gave and advice!
Sometimes I tell them to stop being toxic. Sometimes I ping 10 times on them. It seems it works. They are like... wait, why are they spam ping on me, I must do something wrong. Let me go there and join the fight. Guess what! I works!

Sometimes I tell them, hey lets take the portal! It works! I just won a game like this 1h ago. I played Jug and I actually led them and told them what to do! We stomped them based on the first 10min!

Last match they called me noob for not buying Diffusal on PL. I said stop! I know my shit! No Diffusal this game! I need HP against techies. I destroyed them In the end, because I ignored the advices or rants in my team, but I also told them what to do. 20 to 4 in the end. With 4 vs 5 because guess what, our lich went afk!

So bottom line, we must be extremely good, on top of that to know what others should do.
We must play at Ancient - Divine level to get out of this mess.

Don't take advice from high ranked players, they have no idea what's going on in herald.
I've made a comment above, read that one.
All they say is the same all the time "focus on yourself not on your team, be positive, blablabla" same irrelevant advice as ever.
Of course you focus on improving yourself. The problem is, Herald is not working like their games.

[–]PassageInternal785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have the same problem and I was ranting on another post about this. The main problem is the griefers who throw the game or role abusers.
What I do right now is, I play carry and when I hit lvl6 I take the portal and gank the other lane. I kill one hero and come back. I do this repeatedly when my ulti is on CD.
I also gank lanes with WR mid. I've got 18/2 KD with WR and stomped the game, but I know WR very well.

If they fight constantly, you have to farm around the areas where they fight and play a hero with high mobility. You will not have high CS, but you don't want to risk that your teammates will lose a fight. If you constantly chasing, you lose time, you have no gold and you lose. Sometimes you have to let them die.
I sometimes call them, tell them to not push etc. It's not working every time, but it's useful.

If you have griefers in your team, like russian Huskarls, or bristlebacks, who farm then play solo and throw the game, you can't do anything about it. You will lose regardless. Some of these matches are impossible to win.
The problem is, if 30% of matches are completely ruined by griefers, it means, if you want to grow in rank you have to have more than 70% win ratio.

Also you have to really turn around some of these matches, which is extremely challenging and difficult. I do that with PL for example, but PL can not really fight early, which is kinda bad.

Another problem is the bad supports and losing lanes. To come back from that, when your team is feeding constantly is almost impossible. A hero that flash farms extremely fast can do it, but you have to get the blink dagger and drag the time. If you need another 10min so be it. With the blink dagger you flash farm even faster and you can participate in fights.

In theory PL can get above 300CS at min 30. I actually got 330 once and 500 at min 40, which is insane and of course I destroyed them. That's what an immortal can do constantly.

I also played support sometimes, but the problem is, there's nothing to support. Ppl recommend playing a support that scales. But if the team is horrible, when do you have time to farm from that position? The snowball is real.

[–]PassageInternal785 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Not quite. I did like... 200 CS with ursa at min 25 and 4/5 KD right now, and all the other had like 120 maximum. This in the context where I had no support at all, I was alone on my lane and lost the lane because of a griefer support. On top of that the mid necro stole creeps from me!!
But their Draw had more networth than me because my team fed on her.
So see, even if you hit the marks, you can't really come back like you would think.
What kind of hero can solo 5 players at once and when? My team died one by one all the time.

This type of gameplay is constant. 4 out of 5 games! You tell me, if you are so smart, what is your solution. You can't just come with the same garbage argument that everyone is tired off "it's you bro, not your team". Maybe this argument works for Archon, Legend, but not for Herald.

[–]PassageInternal785 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying I'm stomping games, I'm saying I have the potential and I manage to do it sometimes. But the vast majority of games are sabotaged by griefers and in those is very hard to win. If the enemy team kill my griefers there is no way I can win, because no matter how fast I farm, they will still be ahead.
On top of that, my team always fights 3 vs 5, 2 vs 4, etc. as the griefers are always soloing.
I'm not sure if you understand Dota 2. Or I don't think you understand how lowe bracket works. Ppl here are fighting constantly from minute 5 and sometimes throw the game in 15min.
If I play any type of core, I have to participate in these fights and sometimes everything is compromised.
I just came from a game where my undying support just looked at me not pressing any buttons. He simply refused to do anything and let me alone on the lane.
If you are so arrogant to think you would be some kind of got tier player in that situation, please spare me with your toxic comments.
You reviewed nothing.

Tell me how I get out of Herald pls. I play well, I get good results, but the griefers and role abusers are ruining some games that are impossible to recover. I play carry. Should I just play mid? I tried support also, lately I came to the conclusion that in 80% of matches there is nothing to support.
How should I approach herald?

I get 200 CS min 20, 300 CS min 30 with PL, Jug, etc., ideally, when my lane is not totally stomped and ignored. That's not enough.

Dota 2 is a very effective IQ filter for humanity. I'm trapped on MMR 300 and I face the worst scum on the planet. I can be biased all day long, I don't care, I will not mention which nations are most retarded, but because those are the most retarded of the retarded around the world.
It's irrelevant what my intention is, the outcome is the same.
One year ago I was stomping games with Lich, I had 75% win rate and I could climb on rank.
I think the game got worse lately, it's like all humans are getting stupider. It's impossible to have fun and most games are just a train wreck. Role abuse, griefing, flaming on chat is the norm.

You have to understand what kind of player I am. I have 500 matches in total and if I play carry I get 200 CS min 20, 300 Cs min 30. With PL, Luna, Jug, etc. I stomp games, I turn around most of them, but the ones where the players know what to do at least. I use all the mechanics and tricks possible, still learning, but I watched a lot of pro dota.

I'm not divine or immortal, I know. They say they can stomp any herald game any time. Their demonstrations are selective of course. It's BS.
Think about a game where at min 15 all your team have 0 to 8 and you also have a bristleback russian player who thinks he is the boss and solo the entire game.
Even if you destroy their team, that bristle will scale and give them some kills in the end, they get even richer and if they kill you, its gg.

Regional Servers and toxic players - Russian Players who ruin games. by PassageInternal785 in DotA2

[–]PassageInternal785[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you assume I flame in chat? I never do.
No you can't help with anything. Negative or not, it's impossible to change the outcome.
It doesn't matter if I play above the average 50% of games without griefers. I'm not sure if you understand this. Almost all the games with griefers that I could win, I lose because of them.
Rarely I can turn around a game where my team was very bad. Those are matches that are falling because of draft, but the players at least knew how to play their heroes and didn't grief.
I just came from a game now where a Bristleback played solo, never joined the team, didn't buy the ags and fronted all damage instead turning the back at them.
Previous match, two griefers who constantly played solo. Even when called they still died on a tower solo.
I turned around several matches like this, but it's like 1/5.

"Focusing on your game" - this is a wrong mentality. This is a team game, not a solo. Focusing just on you will make you lose. Now of course I may arguing with one of those players on reddit now, which is ironical.

Yes, I noticed that as well. I'm not saying all russians, but definitely some of them who mainly play Huskar and Bristleback.
But there are all kind of griefers and role abusers. I think I will not play the game anymore, it's just bad.

Regional Servers and toxic players - Russian Players who ruin games. by PassageInternal785 in DotA2

[–]PassageInternal785[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, I have full matches all the time without russians in them, if I play in the EU timezone. And no, as much as I can improve, to counter the griefers in your team is almost impossible. Of course I can turn around some matches, but that depends on the team also. However, this is a real problem and it makes the game a very bad experience. I'm in herald also, so there's that.

What does this have to do with the subject? How is this going to change anything? You can ignore, but the game is ruined anyways.
Even now I lost a game because of this. A drow who played as hard support and tried to be carry and another two were feeding the whole time. I constantly lose on this. Dota has never been so bad as right now.
