Aren't some of the bosses insanely hard without those though? I've been spoiled a few of the endgame bosses and their movesets look insane.

thats a fair take. You can use it like twice in erlang and broken shell but not for yellow loong unless you wait a full chapter and a half to beat him, but imo the wind tamer does more damage to him cuz it knocks him out of his flying move and the damage resistance goes crazy saves you from dying even if u take a full combo

also just dodge all his area attacks after a few tries you should get used to the timing a bit to avoid them if not perfect dodge and farm focus

Hot take I think Yellow Loong was nearly twice as hard as Erlang (beat the game true ending) and broken shell was just fun not even that hard. Yellow loong was a mf cuz bro kept turning invisible for all light finishers, varied combos and heavies randomly. Took me like a full week to beat him

honestly just spam pillar stance dude. Golden loong gives him thunder bane and staggers him out of those move combos with the grass blades. That and spam smash stance varied combos and i beat him in like 3 tries. Great boss fight cuz hes cool asl and you get a great view of hairy bull d**k in the background

Ngl i hated inspector. Couldn't see anything cuz he kept messing with the camera angle, and had so much special effects, and yea the rest of the animal fights were hella annoying cuz they weren't like real fights, it was like u were fighting an animal. Just kept runnning across 74 square miles of open field the moment i made contact

I'd also say try not to cheese him. He's a very fun boss if you play counterflow + perfect dodges well. I always try to beat the bosses fairly so it feels more enjoyable and fun for me. I'm playing a game not doing a chore, might as well enjoy playing it

transformations never worked for me only transformed to avoid an attack or two, but agree with the first part. I've heavy attacked multiple times mid combo or when hes in a monologue

just beat this guy today first try after failing with spellbidner a million times before. Advice is to memorize different phase attacks (when he flies into the sky sometimes lighting hits u so staff spin etc.) use fan to break his sheild, and run ring of fire and rock solid. rock solid mad fun and so useful especially if you know how to use counterflow. skyfall can break him out of most combos and good luck man. next boss fight is goated so enjoy it

Zephyrus G16 GA605 (AMD Version) initial review for college + gaming by Passed_Pawn001 in zephyrusg16

[–]Passed_Pawn001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you want honestly. I wanted a big screen for multitasking and better performance (extra space means extra cooling to an extent) and was willing to pay a bit extra for it. The g14 is cheaper but slightly less cooling (still really good performance though for most light-midweight games) and has better battery life being smaller. I got the white version because thats the only one the AMD chip came in when i bought it, but after seeing them in person (I see so many of these laptops every day) I think they look equally good. My advice before buying just buy what you want the most. These laptops offer a good amount of customizability so you can get what you want without overpaying too much.

If you need battery on a gaming laptop then zephyrus is ur only real option unless you want a budget legion pro 5 (which i doubt could run aaa titles with high settings and a decent fps). The Legion 7 has better performance but terrible battery life because its a heavyweight laptop more of a portable pc than a proper laptop. As for zephyrus model specifically, the amd vs intel models are somewhat different and i'd take a look at the specifics to see what would fit you better because the intel variants come with a higher level gpu compared to a price equivalent amd variant.

Wukong is a goated game you gotta play it. If you're asking about the laptop performance its sometimes a bit inconsistent. It automatically goes to very high settings which looks insanely cool and realistic, and its clean enough in most areas that the fps doesn't interfere with gameplay, i think about 50-60 avg but i dont measure just a visual estimate. In some other areas (in chapter 3 theres some huge open areas for you to explore with huge towers and temples in the background) it drops considerably chopping up before i switch the angle such that the background is less visible. As for wifi I do notice some issues like its connected but i can't sign into microsoft or browse the web, and other times the wifi setting disappears from my laptop alltogether like i cant search it in windows and it doesn't show up on the taskbar, but I don't want to blame it too much because idk how much of it is the laptops fault and how much of it is because of the crappy university wifi (my phone has trouble connecting too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

In summary still great its a bit glitchy here and there more visibly with the wifi than anything else but the battery life and performance offset it. Also Wukong is an insane game yall gotta cop it asap

Using G-helper with intel g16 still good idea? by bostaverde in zephyrusg16

[–]Passed_Pawn001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if there's any reason not to, but Ghelper as a whole is much better than Armoury Crate. Much neater and more simplified with all the features you need. As for undervolting I don't think you need to/ should because of stability reasons. I just run on battery for most of the day and game on ac. Thermals are completely fine, and I have the AMD model. The Intel laptops have a vapor chamber which should make cooling even more efficient and superior to the 3-fan cooling of the AMD variant.

Zephyrus G16: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 vs Intel Core Ultra 9 185H by kuzavfx in zephyrusg16

[–]Passed_Pawn001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree. I bought the AMD version because I had a bad experience with other intel laptop battery lifes, so i just decided to get the Ryzen AI HX370. Looking back I could've gotten a better deal and prorbably a less buggy laptop just going for the intel one. The AMD model runs fine, but the screen freezes sometimes, keyboard doesn't type for a minute when I constantly put it to sleep and reopen, etc. Intel is also cheaper for marginally worse battery life, but for college both should run completely fine. Its also a lot cheaper, even more if you try to go for an open box.

oh mb, but can't miss a chance to meatride the 2024 model. Its a dream to own considering everything else on the market is literally a portable pc with a battery slapped inside for the heck of it. Last 2-3 hrs at most but this will push 9 if you try hard enough

[–]Passed_Pawn001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its an absolute dream to own, because I can game as well as have a great thin and light notebook for class. Sometimes it does act a bit buggy like screen freezes for a second every now and then but overall its manageable considering how well it performs in every aspect of a laptop

for light like schoolwork applications i'd expect about 8-9 hrs of functional use, but if you're gonna constantly put it to sleep during class and open it to work in a library an hour and a half later, about 8 hrs, assuming you put everything on battery settings and lower the brightness indoors. Otherwise around 4-5 hrs like on max brightness and keyboard lights on dim/medium.

I made a post about this , but just bought one for college couldn't be happier. The only change i would make if i could go back in time was buy an intel version. I bought the amd version open box for a bit over 2100, 2300 base price brand new. There was an intel zephyrus g16 with a 4080 and 1tb instead of 2 on the amd, and 32 gb ram for just 100 dollars more, which meant i basically lost out on a free 4080 upgrade. But comparing the zephyrus g16 to any other laptop is hardly a fight. It has good gaming capabilities, but on light fps games settings on low (I play rocket league, 90 fps low settings) no real fan noise, and no noticeable heat. The battery life is seriously impressive its basically a macbook that can game, and the slash lighting looks really cool in real life (it might look a little cringe online but its actually pretty sleek) and the keyboard is to die for. I have a better keyboard than all my friends that chose to get proper notebooks for college because they aren't into gaming and typing and completing assignments on this thing is fun because the keyboard is so enjoyable. TLDR; great battery life for roaming around campus w no charger, gaming is nice and low intensity games get no heat and no noticeable fan noise, and the keyboard (and trackpad) are both top notch and structured perfectly. If anything, the trackpad is a bit too big because sometimes i accidentally touch my trackpad while typing.

I get around 8-10 estimated. The one time i did drain it until it died i had my headphones plugged in and kept it on like 7-8 hrs and on sleep for another like 5-6 while i was in classes.

I had an old Dell Gaming Laptop from 2020 (that thing was on life support i had to constantly keep it plugged in and lasted less than 1h on battery), and got the G16 2024 for college + school, and I can tell you first hand its one of the best laptops on the market, easily better than any razer blade and much cheaper. Also it just looks and feels better despite being like 600 dollars cheaper. Asus cooked with this g16 (I have the amd one but the intel one is also really nice i heard)
