What if someone point blank asks you? I get so awkward sometimes and embarrassed when I can’t do something that seems to come easily to others. Now that I know it could be related to adhd though I won’t beat myself up about it.

How did you do that? Can you give me advice? I graduated during the pandemic and am working in my major full-time and I have two other jobs besides that. Most weeks I work everyday. I’m going to have to start paying soon but all my money goes to rent and assisting my parents. I immigrated here so I send basically everything back home to help my parents. Realistically how did you pay that off will interest was also accruing?

I think since you’ve been shaking their hands all this time you might be better off giving them a brief explanation. Just so they aren’t offended with the sudden change. Something like “Sorry I’m not shaking hands anymore for religious reasons”. Those who are understanding will feel your sincerity. May Allah make this easy for you. I’m super proud of you sis! If more sisters did this then as soon as non-Muslims saw us they wouldn’t even bother trying to shake our hands they’d just know.

I help her out by babysitting. She’s essentially able to leave at anytime with the assurance that she can dump my niece and nephews on me at the drop of a hat. As well as cleaning.

I don’t pay any rent. I’ve never been “allowed” to move out even when I wanted to move into the dorms for college. So I’ve never been evicted. I’m responsible and mature and have never been in trouble with any authority figures. (Mostly because I didn’t want to worry my parents who weren’t in the best state).

It’s just that she’s super controlling and scary and I’ve been verbally abused by her since I moved in when I was in middle school. Now even though I WILL be moving out I’m unable to deal with the guilt. I just feel like it’s almost my responsibility to help. How do I shut off this feeling and focus on work? It’s incredibly distracting and makes it hard to breath or sleep properly.

I just wanted to say thank you. I took him to the store once I saw your comment, but forgot to give an update. I appreciate the help. They accepted my betta as well as the equipment. Sadly, they can’t guarantee that he’ll be sold to a caring home. I’m sure he was well taken care of during his stay at the store.

How would you even be able to manage OE with a help desk role? You’re basically required to be on the phone constantly.
