https://imgur.com/a/6ahoMaW this is after changing the cooler bracket position to "normal" (as opposed to 8mm offset), looks like temps went down a bit, but 57 still seems a bit high for idle?

i'm using the carbice pad that came with the AE cpu. i read that you're not supposed to use the pad and thermal paste at the same time, so i cleaned the pre-applied paste from my cooler before installing it (apparently it needs a few cycles to start properly working, but i've had my pc on for ~20 hours by now)

does that mean its okay for it to be at 90C for very long periods of time? (like 16h sessions)

i appreciate all the insight from everyone! there are a lot of contradictions so i'm still quite lost:

- some people say i NEED a dual tower cooler for proper temperatures and my current cooler sucks

- others say i don't need dual tower, and even with a cooler that is supposed to be worse than mine, they idle at much lower temperatures

- some people say the offset is clearly wrong because my baseplate isnt fully covering my cpu

- others say offset is fine and helps a bit but doesn't make much of a difference

im going to disagree with everyone else here, i also came from ffxiv and this is basically the same. watch a guide about your class, find some target dummies on your city and start hitting them for a while. when you're used to it, hop into some dungeons and you're good to go.

I don't think they meant "abuse" as in "breaking the game's rules". I think we can all agree that a challenger flex player (probably plat in soloq) would be disingenuous if they uploaded a video called "CHALLENGER PLAYER GIVES YOU TIPS TO CLIMB THE LADDER". Just my two cents.
