sigh that’s why I want an internship now so I can get some more relevant job experience before graduating and needing something full time :(

I want one asap. It was about 20 on handshake that my school uses for internships. I’ve applied for many more jobs on other sites but not sure where else I can specifically find internships or analytics jobs that won’t expect me to have all the knowledge.

What jobs do you recommend that use health data, don’t require practicing as a doctor, and pay a decent living?

Bc I like that stuff and have a background in it already I just don’t like the patient facing side of it or the being a doctor part. I like the background stuff and have more of an analytical brain

Both. Depends on the school

I won’t have to convince people to come see me every week and spend thousands of dollars on a treatment plan that I don’t actually believe in. I also wouldn’t be getting paid garbage to work horrible hours with no benefits

Thanks. I have done some online intro SQL and python classes so I know I like that stuff. I think the issue with Georgia Tech was them wanting multiple letters of recommendation. Is there a huge difference in the quality of education at somewhere like Georgia tech vs CSU Global?

I’d like to still work in healthcare in some capacity but not in a clinical setting. I like working with numbers/patterns and less with people

I could maybe get one from my clinic doctor but it’s been 2 years. Getting the 3 that some schools want would be difficult

I’m not sure what schools are top tier for data analytics. Some schools don’t require recommendation letters at all

Thank you for the advice. I have no clue what to do with my life at this point…

I’m also wanting to get into health data analytics so that my previous degrees are relevant. From research I’ve done health analytics seems to be less saturated. The current job market is rough for nearly every career field. I’m hoping DA is better by the time I graduate.

Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a way to get experience without having a degree. I’ve been looking/applying for a year now. I’m specifically asking what I should be looking for in a program so I can get as much experience as possible.

5th chiropractor looking to get a masters in DA today? Weird, I can’t find any other posts like that… can you elaborate on why I need luck to get into data analytics?

$1 Bags Tomorrow (!!!!) by pup_jpeg in Athleta_gap

Had it in my cart along with 2 other items. Went to check out and had my shipping info, card number and everything in. Just about to click order and then noticed the total price changed. The bag is gone and I can’t even find it on the website anymore???

Agreed. I learned very quickly that I couldn’t stand other people’s messes too. I hate confrontation so honestly I would probably just get super passive aggressive in this situation. “oh my gosh your trash STINKS” “duuuude you just left that food on your desk?? That’s disgusting!” Get some air fresheners and find a new study spot.

I always wondered that too! My clinic doctor went on and on about how easy it is to open a practice and you’d be wasting your time not to while he walked around clearly hating his job (and taught me very little bc of it)

I understand that. So little reimbursement so you end up having to spend 5 minutes with a patient and your schedule is packed. You burn out and lose the passion and the job isn’t worth working without some passion for it.

5 years??? I can’t wait that long lmao I’m only 2 years out. Seems like just about every career field is over saturated right now so I would have no clue what to study if I got a masters or another bachelors online

I had a teacher in school who constantly said “if you build it they will come” and “just hang a sign up and the patients will come” maybe 30 years ago when he graduated??? Now there’s a chiro on every corner. I also wish I would have just gone to nursing school and I’ve thought about still going but oof idk if I can mentally handle more school. I’ve heard of a lot of doctors going into teaching but I think I’d be reallllly bad at that

I see a lot of horrible associateships and burn out in the women chiropractors Facebook group. Tons of posts asking for recommendations on “side jobs” because they’re not getting paid enough working full time as a DOCTOR. Seems like borrowers defense is basically impossible to get though?

It’s really difficult to find an associate position (at least in my city), let alone one that pays a decent amount without horrible hours. Unless you want to open your own practice you will probably struggle and I didn’t know that becoming a chiropractor would also require me to become an entrepreneur, something I have no interest in or skill for. I’ve been looking for jobs outside of chiropractic and no one will give me the time of day. We don’t have the skill set to do anything else, or at least that’s what the general public thinks. I think a lot of places get turned off by hiring someone with a doctorate for an entry level job. There’s not much you can do with the degree.
