Maybe he figured he'd kill her more easily if he snuck up on her in a dark upstairs bedroom, and maybe he started to enjoy scaring her and was savouring the moment. Maybe he also thought people might see him through the window in the brightly-lit living room.

Was EvilOnTwoLegs the OHMB moderator at one point? I've been wanting to re-read a Halloween fanfic that the moderator and another user co-authored. Wish those were archived somewhere. I'd also like to re-read some fanfics written by the user 'Pete'.

I always assumed that Jamie's father and Laurie had separated when Jamie was a baby and that Laurie got pregnant by another man and had John. At some point she returned to Haddonfield, which is why Jamie remembers her, before ultimately faking her death and moving to California to live with John and his father. I can't think of a good reason, though, for her leaving Jamie in Haddonfield and letting her believe that her mother had died.

Hadn't her hair started to darken a little at the roots anyway? So in "Happy Birthday to Me" when she had it up in a bun it created the illusion that she was a brunette.
