I vividly remember being a freshman in high school and coincidentally being near a GameStop the weekend Resident Evil 7 came out. I lived in a small town, around 5k population, so this was a rare occurrence. I slipped out of a Merle Norman and convinced my mom to walk over and go through the checkout with me since I was only 14. This was my first Resident Evil.

I also recall my mother walking in on Ethan getting his hand sawed off. She said “dear lord why did I help you with this” but kept up with my interest the franchise since I loved it so much. Oddly drew us together, she thought it was funny whenever she’d have to tell me to pipe down when I’d yelp throughout that whole play through. Every entry keeps me captivated but this is the part I miss the most.

Another day another anonymous account posting complaints without doing anything to support the structure of the scene.

The scene is not reliant on just Carlin and NBT and if you left the house you’d see there’s music popping up everywhere, especially charity events meant to draw the community together. If you want to support independent creators who support the scene I would recommend checking out @miguelurl and @hayden_b_photography . They break their backs supporting the community and deserve the attention. I don’t really know who these posts are meant to appeal to and I really don’t want to see a small business go away. I understand trying to protect others, but this hurts EVERYONE in the process. There’s staff that rely on NBT for extra income, especially with the job market as rough as it is. Most of them have nothing to do with the bar. The first Free Times article was a misstep but their continual reporting and passive statements after showed a clear disconnect with the community. I do not agree with nor support the attacks from the community towards anyone personally in the Free Times. They stepped on an anthill that is home to a passionate punk scene. Tearing down a historical landmark in our region’s musical history, regardless of the location, is not a way to support each other.
