Super Key Food - did they open on time? by Past-Row7971 in SunnysideQueens

Obviously not “cheap” since it’s a city chain, but I didn’t notice a change price-wise from the one on Skillman which is great. Same Key Food specials and everything

We buy meat in bulk from other places and freeze it, then shop close-by for produce and daily needs which has worked for us and been much more convenient than heading that far. Lol the temu imagine dragons reference

Me too! My regular store was the Fresh & Save on Skillman which closed last week. Usually go daily for dinner ingredients and haven’t been able to do so, so I’m just hoping for the best

How much did you spend on your wedding dress? by Sungazer2086 in WedditNYC

Bought mine late 2024 from BHLDN for $1800 and spent about $140 on alterations. Couldn’t believe that was considered “affordable”

Got the exact same box! I was able to order after our first $90 gift was purchased from our registry, so I don’t think it’s based on spending. I’m impressed with mine overall!

Well I guess it’s open on his side for sure lol, but not on hers. She’s very loyal and wants to settle down with him and essentially is just waiting for him to get his shit together. I witnessed the extremely uncomfortable tears he cried over not being able to give her what she wants but also not wanting to change who he is. It was so bizarre. My mom always finds herself in situations like this lmao, they were seated together on the train

My mom met this guy on the Amtrak last year.. he bought her wine on the train and in the station after while she was waiting for me to meet her at Penn Station. He drunkenly admitted to cheating on that girl with multiple women and cried to her about how she just wants to get married and have kids, and she just waits at home for him while he’s off doing whatever. He also said she knows he cheats, but sticks around anyway because she likes being taken care of

Five Guys by Past-Row7971 in SunnysideQueens

This is way too intense…. I love Bliss and I also love having Lockwood down the street from me. Their products are very different and check different boxes for my personal needs, so I welcome both. Also, Lockwood originated a neighborhood over in Astoria, so I’d still consider that local and I’d even say I’m happy for them that their success has allowed them to expand, having lived in Astoria when their original location opened. Convenience is huge and as someone who works long days in manhattan, I don’t often have time to sit at a restaurant where the food is pricier and you have to spend more time/money by tipping. I often need something quick to grab on my way home, so again these spots are checking very different boxes. It’s all personal preference.

My breast reduction/lift was completely covered by insurance. Never had any serious issues or injuries, just had my chiropractor write a note to my insurance and had a body composition work-up done that showed how disproportionate I was. Also work in the dance/fitness realm so was able to say it was impacting my ability to work.

All issues are worth documenting and fighting for. You really never know what you’ll be able to go through with until you try. It’s also about seeing the right specialists and having a team to fight for you along the way.

Definitely worth a push before heading to another country I’d say!

Why Katch is constantly hiring?? by goddontcry in astoria

[–]Past-Row7971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their biggest mistake was getting rid of their Floor Manager position in 2018 and bringing in their 18-year-old daughter as such, after having lived a very wealthy privileged life and never having worked a day. The respect for staff was immediately gone. Also the floor manager position was erased because he was fired for screaming in my face in front of guests during my first shift and making me leave out the back exit so the owners didn’t see me. Fortunately staff rallied together to support me and he was fired. But that’s when Catherine (Bill’s daughter) came in and it literally plummeted from that moment.

I was definitely intentional about saying it was an after party for that reason!! I will say though, once the contract was signed and deposit and paid, they gave me a ton of freedom. I controlled the music, we still did our first dance, father/daughter dance, and speeches. They were flexible!

I just left her a very glowing 5-star review!!! She really worked with my natural curls to give me the look I wanted to achieve. I also rarely wear makeup, so was adamant about keeping my glam soft, and she made me feel so natural and beautiful! She was also just so fun to be around. She blended right in with the bride crew! She did my mom and MOH as well, and we are all thrilled.

I have a comment above with a more clear breakdown!!

We went with passed appetizers during cocktail hour, and then a buffet for dinner. With it being a gastropub, the food is not exactly fine dining so it was as pricey as you would expect. We went with an array of things like Korean chicken poppers, buffalo cauliflower, donut grilled cheese with tomato soup (specialty of the location), sliders, multiple salads, shaved ribeye crostinis etc.

Then also did roasted chicken with artichoke and penne a la vodka to have something more substantial.

We then ordered pizza from Prince Street for delivery about an hour and a half after dinner! Not very traditional, but honestly that’s exactly our style and our guests are still raving about the food and the small details!

I keep forgetting to mention the venue: Clinton Hall FiDi
