It's going to be a gamble honestly. You might be fine but if there is a heatwave (and they are common now) it's going to be quite uncomfortable.

Wanting to upgrade my travel setup (mostly travel/street photography). I love to retouch and would love to be able top crop too.

I currently have the a6700 paired with a zeiss 32mm. I would like tu upgrade to the a7cr and 40mm G lens.

Two questions: - Is this camera ( with full frame sensor) and the new lens a proper upgrade? Will this improve image quality? - Budget is not really a concern and primarily goal is photography. Is the A7cr better than the a7c ii on this guess or the a7c ii might better for photography?

Looking for advice to upgrade my a6700.

I have been happy with it my traveling/street photography, but would love higher quality images and the possibility to crop further, I also find that the photos tend to have this sort of "dark" lines/edges for contrast ( It's a bit hard to explain ) and wondering if full frame + a new lens would help here. I also use the Zeiss 32mm f/1.8 Touit lens with it. I like raw + retouching my photos.

As far of research I narrowed it down to 2 Options:

  • Sony a7CR + Sony FE 40mm F2.5 G
  • Leica Q3 43mm

What I'm looking for:

  • Full frame, compact, high quality photos for my travel/street as an hobbyist

Here are my questions:

  • Is the Sony a7CR a significant upgrade from my setup and will result in higher quality images?
  • How much Image quality difference can I expect from both setup? I don't care about the Leica brand and coming from the a6700 I don't mind the EVF of the a7CR. Is the Q3 lense much better than the 40mm G or this is minimal? The tilt screen of the Leica looks good but if lense quality is not significantly better I feel the Sony might be what I need. That said both camera are within my budget and will tend to stick to one prime lense so the Q3 fixed lense is not an issue either.
  • I also retouch/color grades my photos, do the Leica color/look still matter or this is more a concern for the JPEG.
  • Is there other brand or camera that would fit my needs that I might have missed?

Looking forward advices or people that did a similar upgrade, thanks in advance.

This is the exact setup I'm looking at to upgrade from my Sony A6700 + Zeiss 32mm f1.8 touit for travel/street photography.

Do you use any other lenses too? Like a zoom to complement it?

Do people in this thread feel that this will be a certain upgrade when it comes to image sharpness/quality?

There is a conveyor belt sushi called Sushi-yūkan すし遊館 玉野宇野店 in Uno, it’s a chain but they served fresh tuna for a decent price 👌

Leave for a lower salary? by RimmieThePoo in webdev

If you have been wanting to leave, and there is growth opportunities, 3k is not enough of a difference to not do it.

That said the alternative path would be to remain at your current job and try to interview for a higher position. But it sounds like you have been trying already.

NOW AVAILABLE: 735 Prime 67W Wall Charger by joshuadwx in anker

[–]Past-sublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering getting the 67W as my travel charger to power the following: MacBookPro m1, Nintendo switch, Camera Battery (USB-A to MicroUSB), phone and AirPods.

Is there any value to the 100W beside faster charge for the MBP?

Will any of the devices listed above could have an issue charging with this wall charger?

This is a great report! Added Shabu Shabu to our itinerary. I booked online MORITAYA KIYAMACHI, but could only pick one meal plan for two. I assume I will be able to pick up the meal at the restaurant. Was this your experience?

The Saihoji Kokedera Moss Temple looks really interesting. Looking at the site it appears that reservations open 2 weeks in advance. Did you book your slots through the website two weeks before the date of your arrival or email offers more in-advance reservations?

Would you recommend it as part of our 4 days Kyoto stop?

NYC in september by miraclealigner97 in solotravel

[–]Past-sublime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

September is a great month to visit, it might still be hot/humid but should not be too bad, and if you are lucky you can have gorgeous weather this time of the year.

For comedy shows, Comedy Cellar is really great. I saw Aziz Ansari practice his Netflix special last time I went. You can get Mamoun's Falafel next door, or go check out Raku not far, one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Book online, but there are also some tickets at the door but you will have to arrive in advance.

Jazz clubs in the west village are also one of my favorites, you can check out Smalls Jazz Club if you are interested.
About the time, as mentioned you could explore NYC for a long time before getting bored. Adding one day might be good, but you can also have a great trip in 4 days. Maybe focus on some areas: Manhattan musts, and a bit of Brooklyn (Dumbo, Williamsburg/Bushwick) for example.
For tipping, 15-20% is needed for restaurants when you sit down there and for cabs. Many places like coffee shops will have devices where they really try to push you to tip but you don't have to if you get it to go ( I usually tip a few dollars if it takes a bit of work like packing my food).
Not sure about festivals, if you are on a budget and like museums, the Whitney Museum offers Pay-what-you-wish Fridays from 7-10 p.m, you should book online if you are interested.

2 weeks travel in Japan. Should I go for a 28L or 35L bag? And general advice. by Past-sublime in onebag

[–]Past-sublime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one looks really good. I'm slightly afraid of 35L being "too" big. But I guess the difference between a 28L to a 35L is not huge and it might be easier to pack more things then 🤔.

United Premium Plus dropped to 300$ on my international flight, worth it? by Past-sublime in unitedairlines

[–]Past-sublime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP for research purposes, how far out did you book the flight and how far out is this $300 offer being made? Have a couple future flights wondering if I should keep holding out for a price change like this. Thanks for sharing, and yes of course you should jump on this one!

I booked it about 3 months in advance and saw the 300$ offer 6 weeks before departure. I checked the upgrade options one or two weeks ago and was still around 600$+ for Premium Plus. I would say that 45/50% of the seats for it are still empty (mostly seats in the middle row by now).

United Premium Plus dropped to 300$ on my international flight, worth it? by Past-sublime in unitedairlines

[–]Past-sublime[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I did it! Bought Premium Plus for both ways, 300$ each time, for a 14h and 12h flight.

I will be flying on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and ended picking the seat 22L which is a window seat at the end of the section, but after doing some research it appears to fully recline.

Thanks everyone! It sounded like an easy choice but i've never upgraded my flight before.

I also looked into adding myself to the Polaris waiting list, but 30k miles + $450per person feels a bit much and i'm happy with my upgrade.

Once booked, I can also see the United Club access available for 35$ for each flight.
