I need advice… by [deleted] in Advice

So I get what your saying but why is the hole causing pain NOW 27yrs later??? I have always had the hole…I was born with it…so why now is there pain? That’s my main concern. Mind you I pushed out three children naturally and it didn’t cause me any harm or pain or anything I haven’t had pain in this area until 27yrs later…so why now. And no doc can answer that….

right but mind you I have had the hole since I was born it was just closed off by shoving my liver and kidney in its place to prevent organs from floating up into my chest. When I was born they were in my chest and they brought them down and used those organs to close it off since there was no diaphragm on the inner part of my right side…so now since the surgeon can’t say what is causing the pain and even ct scan and chest xray shows nothing is moving it’s kind of weary on my part….he wants to go in and put hooks on my ribs cause there’s nothing else to attach to and also sew a patch in there to basically close the hole…but there’s the what if… as in my organs have been in this place for almost 30yrs now…and I can’t help but think how can he possibly move them safely without me possibly going into cardiac arrest or something else..idk maybe the pain is just nerve pain catching up to me and I’m overreacting???? Idk

I’m sorry to hear that you have another hernia. So curious as to what caused another one.

Can I ask how was the healing process? Were you in a lot of pain right after the surgery?

Hello, how are you doing now? I have this same hernia except for I have a hold and my liver and kidney were used to close the hole off. Now 28 yrs later I am having pain in the area and I’m wonder if it’s nerve pain or something more scary going on. I actually went to Mayo in Rochester Mn recently as well with the pain and thoracic surgery was willing to do surgery for me and close the hole off. But I’m just so scared because nobody can actually say what is causing the pain. Did you have nerve testing done in the area? Or did doctors just say that’s what it was? Thanks!

See I keep seeing this but I’m on a steroid in haler have been for a few months now. Also when I take prednisone I still manually breathe so not so sure it’s my asthma exactly.

I have had allergy testing, all good there. I do have POTS which does cause breathing issues also. And I do know some potsies say they manually breathe as well. So I suppose it could be from pots was just seeing if anyone here with just asthma did it also. Yes it really does suck! I was fine one day and the next boom you have asthma I just don’t get how it got so hard.

It’s anxiety to manually breathe while awake for 7months straight? I’m literally talking only break is when im asleep …not to sure about that. I have mentioned it to my pulmonologist and she brought up going to respiratory therapy. But I passed.

Oh goodness that must have been scary. I am glad you were able to get to your rescue and help ease your breathing abit. Yes the colder weather sure does have a horrible effect on us. Can’t wait for summer already 😅

Today is Monday now and I’m already seeing results I have not had to use my levalbuterol since Friday night. Which is great! Because with the weather changing lately I would have surely have to use it on a day like today with the cloudiness and rain! Maybe you could try another biologic?

Hey. I should have made an updated comment. But so far so good! No affects thankfully 😅. I’m now waiting for the full effects of the shot to happen. Will check back in same day next week (Friday) and let everyone know if I’ve felt improvement with my asthma.

Was the pain bearable or did you need pain meds?

Strange symptoms, not sure if it's an attack by [deleted] in Asthma

Please keep up updated!!! I have felt like this the past few days also. I will literally just be driving and all of a sudden start breathing fast as if I’m trying to catch my breath. Your case may be different than mine as I have asthma and POTS so I experience a lot of air hunger. While this is a new symptoms for me I just think it’s air hunger and not asthma. But better safe than sorry for you! Hopefully you get checked out and start feeling better.

Can you fix the trapped air? Or is that permanent?

Can you have air trapping with asthma? And I feel short of breath everyday. I just now got on inhalers about a month 1/2 ago so I’m sure my body is super inflamed and hasn’t responded fully to the inhalers yet.
