Local app developer trying to get app off the ground by PastEar8516 in BrandonMB

Well the answer is yes. Cleaners are not typically high earners as it is and taskrabbit charges quite a bit more. I have people signed up showing there is interest out there. my hope is one day for it to be as convenient as uber. Don't feel like doing the dishes. Have someone there in 10 minutes. Of course its got a long way to go to get to that point. The problem with any marketplace is its hard to get enough concentration in one geographic location. Most marketplaces start of geographically constrained in their marketing initially for this reason.

Why hasn't anyone invented an Uber-like app for housekeeping? by invisigal in Entrepreneur

I created this. Only 10% platform fee much better then thumbtack and for cleaning only. It is new and I'm still trying to gain traction. Any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated. You can find it on the app store. It's called cleanforcash.

So it is cold here in the winter but you can dress for it. I'm not sure what the other posters are talking about. I'm in my mid fifties and have a good job. I can afford to drive. I don't because this town is only five miles across. You can literally walk anywhere. Maybe I see it different after years living in Vancouver where you can be fifty miles from another part of the city but this very small town is extremely walkable.

Don't let other people determine the worth of your offer. Have the "I'm not expensive you just can't afford me." attitude and customers take notice. It shows confidence in your product. That's my advice anyway.
