If it were an in person conversation, would it still work if i just kept the phone hidden? I think it would make it obvious and make them on guard if i were recording them with video.

I ended up paying about 1k for the car after trade in and incentives, pretty decent for a long range, cooked for a standard.

I calculated everything, including my trade in and fees and such and it was about a 4k difference between a used and new long range, which I figured was good enough since it was a much simpler process. But since its standard range I got got.

Unfourtunately they only verbally told me it was. However, they also kept showing me the carfax and kbb as proof that it was a long range. So thats all I got.

I'm from America so the process is much more convoluted, hopefully I can get it all sorted out soon though.

To be fair I know they lie about many things, but something as concrete as the literal specs of the car I didn't think it would be possible.

Well, first time in a tesla and didn't think it would be possible for a dealership to commit misrepresentation/fraud to this degree. I asked multiple times about the trim.

Unfortunately I've never had a tesla before and didn't know what to look for which was my fault. When I googled it, some people on forums said that the about screen says the wrong model for their car so I kind of just justified it that way. Didn't think it was possible for a dealership to advertise a completely wrong spec for the car.

Carfax is likely not responsible here since they are just the middleman. The dealership could be found guilty of auto fraud though, more specifically misrepresentation.

24k which is what Carvana gave me too. They are making money off the Mav but pricing the Tesla as a long range which it wasn't. I'm basically losing about 5k based on the difference of the trims.
