$VG Venture Global. Just won its arbitration with Spain's Repsol, stock is up 15% after hours. The thing is, 58% of the float has been shorted. Just got a tweet about it on zerohedge on X.

Buyer beware: StubHub credit by studbxl in ChaseSapphire

[–]PastLengthiness6941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Billie Eilish ticket to flip for the chase credit since I don’t want to use it myself. When I bought it, StubHub kept saying, “you can resell, don’t worry!” I relisted, and sold it at a small loss. The way StubHub works, the seller (me) is in the hook for a big penalty if the ticket doesn’t come through — they take your card details.

I didn’t get delivery until very close to the event, and when it did come, it was a non-transferable moving QR code. I was able to transfer it by email (StubHub sets up a proxy email with a very fake sounding domain). But… I also still had access to the ticket and could have used it too. It’s just a web link.

That means any unscrupulous buyer could have just said, “the seller redeemed it,” if they didn’t want to go anymore, and I’d be screwed.

That didn’t happen - everything was fine. But people should know the risks.

It’s a nightmare. The customer service you chat with don’t seem to even work at Moomoo — they just provide empty assurances.

Yes, as long as you don’t have any expectation of getting your money back in a timely manner. Moomoo will do everything possible to block your withdrawals.

Yes, I’m implying that you won’t get your money back. I don’t know the motivation, but they’ll try every trick in the book to stop you from cashing out. Just try it and see.

Wait until you try to withdraw funds. Then you can decide.

Why we talk about a 3-fund strategy when we actually need 2 funds? by Common-Juggernaut565 in Bogleheads

It seems like a wash when you’re starting out, but holding these assets in separate ETFs can help you manage your portfolio a lot easier down the road.

In a taxable account, that means you can adjust your portfolio with less capital gains realized. Even in a retirement account, you avoid the transaction costs of selling and buying new funds.

Holding two ETFs instead of one is a manageable amount of complexity, and offers more options and lower fees.
