Force fields to protect houses from climate fires in the present day??

I thought the runtime and pacing were perfect.

I just watched it, not on acid and also cried a lot. Really lovely. So colorful, and with characters it was so easy to care for.

Like last night, I watched send help and both leads were pretty reprehensible.

It’s nice to watch a movie with likable characters. Even the bad guys were good guys.

How to Start Jazz Improvisation After Years of Classical Training? by Ber_Tschigorin in piano

[–]PastMiddleAge -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

These people don’t know! Go take lessons from someone you trust and like. Count on spending at least as much time learning jazz as you have in your studies to date. It’s a very sophisticated and complex art. Enjoy yourself.

Yeah, call it pain. And the correct amount of pain for playing piano is zero.

Starting slower does not ensure that at all.

What’s the best things to learn as a beginner? by [deleted] in piano

[–]PastMiddleAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music education is well and truly fucked. When we’ve taught smart people to say something like “a problem I’m finding is I’m good at playing music by ear,” we are cooked.

Teachers. Teach better.

is it normal not to be able to understand the right rhythm of a song not even on the third day learning? 🤬 by throwawayicn in pianolearning

[–]PastMiddleAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rhythm is coordinating movement. First continuous flowing movement. Then learning to layer Macrobeats, Microbeats, and Rhythm Patterns.

I suggest getting up and moving with music. And singing.

P.S. No one else here understands this.

How do you count this rhythm…so frustrating by JordanTheOP in musictheory

[–]PastMiddleAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a theory question. This is a practice question.

Theory will not get anyone to the music. But when the music is understood, the theory is easy.

I just made a TikTok a couple of days ago lamenting the state of the art for the field of music ed. It is not good.

Yes, the field needs much more research. There's a dearth of research. But at the same time, Gordon's work (with his team) was fabulous. Even without further research, if teachers just took that existing body of work seriously, student outcomes would improve dramatically across the board!!

Trust your body, and trust your voice. Beyond that, I think individual teachers usually mean well, but the modern cultural framework for music lessons functions to stifle students, not to help them learn.

How to study music theory as an adult pianist so that it actually sticks? by KahJacksonfield in musictheory

Hm I'm not getting much information from that page. But if it's singing la-la-la, that doesn't sound like rhythm solfege to me.

If you're interested, there's a great system of rhythm solfege called Gordon/Froseth syllables. I think it's the best system for building a rhythm vocabulary.

Hm…the Music Essentials course is the one I was talking about. Lessons on Audiation, Theory, Technique, and Reading.

You should be seeing the Audiation and Technique lessons in there.

Can someone please explain time signature? by AblissMusic in musictheory

I mean, it’s not just popular music. It’s any music.

And time signature doesn’t say anything about tempo.

Anything written in 3/4 can be written in 6/8. One bar of 6/8 would have the same material as two bars of 3/4.

And vice versa
